Being honest, I really don't like that the World Cup for 2010 is in South Africa, reason being that the hosting nation should be wealthy and of high status if it is to serve the role as host to such a glorious event. Rich in minerals and exports, known as one of the wealthiest countries in Africa, I agree with you that South Africa is defiantly prosperous. However, in comparison to previous World Cup hosts, I'm not sure. As for high status, I don't think South Africa is; otherwise there wouldn't be such controversy over if it's fit to host a World Cup. I don't want to seem mean, but I'm more concerned with what South Africa can do for the World Cup rather than what the World Cup can do for South Africa.
