  • One of the reasons Venus wasn't playing effectively was because of Kimiko's rising shot. The commentator didn't mention it, but her rising shot really works on grass. That is why Wimbledon is a special place for Kimiko.

  • @mjisr866 if they were both 25, equal match play experience, fitness; Venus would destroy this chick. This was an excellent match and Date admitted in her press conference that Venus was without matches. Age aside, Date is fitter than most of these WTA players.

For you to claim this BS score of in my opinion; one of the best grass court female players in the sport of tennis. It's just plain ignorant. Give credit where credit is due.

  • If they were both 25, Date would have taken this 6-2 6-2

  • @mjisr866

SO HOW MANY WIMBYS FOR DATE OR ANY MAJORS FOR THAT MATTER

  • STFU ALL OF YOU. venus wasnt even palying that badly. kimiko was just being a boss

  • @tennisproderek hah. venus was playing one of the worst ever. she couldnt even catch ball that she definitely could have catch 2,3 years earlier.

  • Yeah, Venus was playing very bad and a close match isn't necessarily a good match.

  • The fact that this match was close, pretty much most people are hailing it a good match but I've watched Venus for years! I've never seen her play so "ineffective" at Wimbledon; no authoritative hitting for a significant period, no penetration through the court. It was her serve which saved her. YES, Kimiko played well; I'm not taking anything away from her but I stand by the fact she was made to look good by knocking off those short balls that Vee had no business hitting short.

  • @KadeKempson

Oh come on. Wouldn't you just admit that POWER is not the only thing making a champion in tennis. In my viewpoint it's Date who played so well making Venus struggling during this match and produced some shot that Venus couldn't even imagine.

Look what Henin did in 2007, totally dominated in women's tennis.

  • @pisawbuya I didn't say that power was the ONLY thing. Tell me where I said that? That's the thing about an opinion or view-point, it's subjective. But what I saw time and time again was that Venus was hitting the ball short. Just look at where her balls landed for the most part; they were short of, or a little bit past, the service box- inviting her opponent to take charge of the point. Sometimes one can make their opponent look better than they actually are or were. Just saying.

  • @pisawbuya Oh, and if you want to know the REAL definition of dominance in women's in this era's tennis, look up Serena Williams 2002-2003

  • Venus was playing HORIBLE! But she still won

  • Stop grunting that much Venus! Don't get me wrong, she is my favourite player ever but she plays better when she is not grunting that much!

  • Awesome match...feel sorry for Date-Krumm

  • For @VenusesWilliams to play at this level coming off an injury with her back against the wall is phenomenal. ♥ her fight and determination to be the best at all times no matter what. Never count her out til the last ball is struck.

  • So wanted Kimiko to win this match. She did play such an excellent match. She should be proud of herself,

  • @frodoireland

VENUS MUST HAVE PLAYED EVEN BETTER SINCE SHE WON?

  • Venus fought like a true champion
