@XPHALCON - had the good fortune after purchasing Happy Jack in '68, to get the Pinball Wizard single as soon as it arrived at the ..Record Store!! lol Little did I know what lurked on the other side! I tried to replicate it on my used Red Pearl Drum set, resulting in more fun than accuracy!! Everytime I hear it I'm snapped right back to that time. That was Rock!! Thanks - great tune and dogs - WAY ahead of it's time!!!
DAMMIT - now I want a dog! Thanks for posting this...I had never heard this B-Side before now, and I've been a fan of the group since first hearing QUADROPHENIA back in the mid Seventies!
Moon was the best drummer I have ever heard or seen...I once read an article where he was referred to as the "Idiot Prince of Rock Drummers"....he had his issues offstage, but put him behind a set of drums, and nobody else EVEN COMES CLOSE.... as this song demonstrates.
I still have the 45 rpm vinyl record of this... I think I bought it in 1971. Got the Two's Missing CD as well later on, but I always loved this track. Couldn't understand why it was never on a proper album. I'm not surprised that some long-time Who fans have never heard this...
First heard this song about 25 years ago - it's the B side to Pinball Wizard.I think this is the version from the 'Tommy' Deluxe cd - the vinyl b side is much more raw in my opinion - a superb track !!
I've been a Who fan for more than half my life, since the mid 70's, and this is my first exposure to this song. It sounds very dated, but the power Moon brings to this song is frightening. I think I can finally die in peace now. Thanks for the upload. XPHALCON
if it's not an alternate take it must be an alternate MIX--don't like the OD'd fuzzy Bass...

The songwriters are "Moon-Towser-Jason." The latter two refer to the dogs owned by Pete Townshend and John Entwistle respectively.

@UnclePaulie52 He wasn't an idiot. He did suffer from depression and other things like that from what I've heard...also, boredom.

@UnclePaulie52 Please tell me you're kidding....you might want to open up to some other drummers ;)
