  • Judy!!! I made my very first scarf, start to finish, using only your videos!!! I'm just pleased as punch and so is my son!!!! Thank you for all your help!!!! ~Keri~

  • @loveblues234

that's so great. hope you've continued to have fun knitting. thanks again for subscribing. check out my new video blog too.

  • Thankyou so much

  • @frostybagel65 GLAD IT HELPED YOU. Please keep watching and learning. Look for me on facebooktoo.

  • @lilross97 you just use a yarn needle and sew it in the back of your work or if it's double sided work darn it in the sides, I hope that helps. It's this way for knitting and crochet you gotta darn all those little ends in just part of it all :)

  • How do you get rid of the little string on the end though?

  • @lilross97

just pull it through with your knitting needle.

  • Hey I got it to work! Thank! Can you make a head band knitting video?

  • @knitaknot

hey, glad you got it! Watch my video on How to Make a Flower Head Band. Have fun knitting and look for me on facebook too.

  • @knitaknot

I do have a headband video. It's on my channel. How to knit a flower headband. Just make it without the flower.

  • Hi Judy, When i got to the last stitch you said to cut the yarn and pull of but mine unraveled! Please help!

  • @knitaknot

Hi. I know I'm not Judy, but I do have a suggestion for you, if you still need it. Try pulling the remainder of your thread through the loop of your last stitch. That will hold it in place, but don't forget to tie a knot! Hope this helps.

  • @Chipmunkchick1

you're welcome. please keep watching and look for me on facebook too.

  • Thanks so much this is great! I'm a beginner and this is pretty easy to follow :)

  • @Blackrose09x

glad the video helped. keep watching my channel and look for me on facebook too.

  • Got to the end... And yay!! It's all worked out I just had to do some engineering make sure it wasnlocked tight and won't unravel .. The usually methods weren't working because of this bobble yarn. Your method was best for this yarn.thanks again :)

  • Once again thanks Judy! This was the technique I needed for my project it said to specifically do this method and of course your vids are so easy to understand :) I'm confident that when I get to the end I'll know what to do :) thank you!!

  • Thanks so much for all your videos! They are so helpful.

  • @lisa8lightning

thanks and glad the videos are helpful to you. please keep watching and look for me on facebook too.

  • Thanks so much for this video! Great explanation. I have a quick question - If you bind off in the middle of a row, how do you knit across it in the next row? I can't figure this out!

  • @lisasr1

it depends on what you're doing. the video that I'm working on now shows how to do this so look for it coming in the next week. thanks. look for me on facebook too.

  • thank you so much for helping me.... again lol. i watched this before but then i forgot how to do it so i had to watch a second time.

  • thank you I didn't know how to bind until now !

There are a few mistakes in my work but i'll keep on watchin this vid so i can learn properly.

you're welcome. please keep watching and look for me on facebook too.

  • Hi, I'm a beginner and just finishing my first dishcloth. Thank you for doing this because this video is SO helpful and clear! I love how you talk it through and show the stitching over and over slow enough for me to understand. I just have one question. My dishcloth has a border that's 5 rows of knit/purl every other stitch. Do I bind that off with all knit, or do I need to alternate knit purl knit purl when binding off?

  • @curlyhead3256

Ideally you would bind off k and p, but it probably will look just fine if you bind off all k. thanks for writing and please keep watching.

  • thank you so much but i have a question can you do a tutorial on how you made that design of knitting it looks pretty

  • @safa23alam

I was just working on a little piece for the demo. The yarn is Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride and it is beautiful yarn.

  • im a new knitter....so i dont know if this is a stupid question. but, does having an odd number of stitches matter?

  • @cupcakedec27

sometimes the number of stitches you need for certain patterns will matter, but not always. I hope this explains and doesn't confuse. Please keep watching my videos. On certain ones I will talk about the number of stitches if it matters.

  • This was a great help!! None of the other videos helped, keep it up! I'd love to watch more of your videos.

  • @KRPatterson92

THANK YOU. And, please do keep watching. Lots to learn. Look for me on facebook too.

  • @KRPatterson92

THANK YOU. And, please do keep watching. Lots to learn. Look for me on facebook too.

  • Thanks for the refresher. I knit off and on months inbetween and for some reason this always slips my mind.

  • @Gambler77713

yes, but then you remember and it's like you never forgot in the first place. thanks for writing. please keep watching and look for me on facebook too.

  • Thank you!! It worked perfectly for me. What a gift you gave me!

glad the video helped you finish your project. always a good feeling. please keep watching and look for me on facebook too.

  • your going way to fast for beginers

  • @feakshowonwheels

that's why I made another one called CASTING ON SLOW VERSION. Give that a look.

  • do you think you could do that in slooooow motion please?

  • @aquarelapura

look at CASTING ON SLOW VERSION. Should be better for you.

  • @aquarelapura

sorry it was too fast for you. please keep watching and trying.

  • Very precise and clear. It has been years and I forgot but this refreshed my memory

  • @lpage2952

glad to hear you're back into knitting. please keep watching. thanks.

  • Your lessons are so great, I HAD to sign in -after years- to let you know. I simply love your way to explain it.

In addition, after noticing how many knitters try to include themselves and most of their rooms in their videos, I've grown very thankful for well framed, considerate videos that show the actual work and hand movements!

  • @Anaxtasian

Thank you for such a nice comment. I appreciate that you appreciate the quality of my videos. We (my husband does the camera work) love getting good feedback. Please keep watching. The later videos are even better.

  • What do you do with the last piece of thread? It always unravels my other stitches. Do I just knot it? I'm confused. @_@

  • @FearTheFlowers

weave it in. don;t let it unravel.

  • Thank you for all your tips, I just finished my first project :) Now what can I do with the loose yarn at both the start and end?

  • @yusrafication

    what is the project?

  • @knittingtipsbyjudy Just a simple scarf.

  • @yusrafication

if you add fringe you can use those threads as part of it. if you don't add fringe take a crochet hook and weave the ends in. watch my video on how to weave in ends. that should help you.

  • @knittingtipsbyjudy It is a scarf.

  • @yusrafication

    weave them in.

  • @Shyejohnson

oops, sorry it went too fast for you. watch it a few times. all you need to know is how to bind off the first stitch, then just repeat that action till all the stitches are gone.

  • Thanks SOOOOOOOOO much! It was really helpful, especially the last bind-off stitch.

  • @Vappysappy

GREAT! GLAD IT HELPED AND NOW YOU KNOW. PLEASE KEEP WATCHING AND LOOK FOR ME ON FACEBOOK TOO.

  • I really enjoyed all your videos. i am just learning to knit, so i have alot of questions on how different things are done and your videos have been a lifesaver for me! i especially like how you knit the last stitch backward to keep your yarn tight. that has been an issue for me. keep up the good work!!!

  • @SephirothLover3000

so glad the video helped you. please keep watching more videos. happy knitting!

  • Thank you, this was very helpful, but what do I do with the two extra strings at the bottom and top? Is there some special knot you do to keep it from unraveling or do you just cut it and it stays?

  • @SaveTheWolvess

DON'T CUT!!! weave them in. see my video on how to weave in ends.

thanks for writing and please look for me on facebook too.

  • @want4onlyone

yes, I will add that to my to do list. Meanwhile, try using one of the other stitches I have demonstrated. Bamboo is great, for instance. Happy knitting and please look for my facebook page too.

  • Ms. Judy I'm proud to say you taught me how to knit. Thanks!!!

  • I'm so happy to hear that. Please keep watching.

  • i found this to be the most helpful video in terms of binding off .. however, i always find that after i cut the extra excess string, the last stitch doesn't hold as well .. what am i doing wrong? and do you have any suggestions for avoiding this?

  • try pulling it through again (with a crochet hook) and weave it in unless you are going to use it to sew up a seam.

  • Thank you!

  • THANKS!

  • I really love your videos..

  • thanks. I appreciate that. please keep watching.

  • wow really easy thanks

  • yes, it;s all easy once you understand how to do it. thanks.

  • i agree this is very helpful. its my first time knitting my husband's scarf and i really appreciate you showing how to bind off. thank you and more power!!!

  • glad I was able to help. happy knitting!

  • very helpful

  • good. glad to help.

  • Thank you for taking this all the way to the end. The other videos I watched only did a few stitches, which didn't help me finish! Good video.

  • ya gotta go to the end. otherwise you won't know what to do with the last stitch. glad I could help.

  • Is it better to do what you did on the last stitch? Normally I give myself a little excess and tied a knot on that stitch and the stitch before it to keep it in place. Does what you did to the last stitch keep it in place?

  • This always works for me and you don't have a knot.

  • i really like how you teach you go to every single thing i have seen othe vidoes but they dont really explain it plus dont go till the end im a good knitter but im only 11 and i still need help

  • thank you for your nice note. keep up the good work and have fun knitting.

  • Very helpful video. Thanks for posting :))

what ten other videos plus two books COULDNT teach me, you taught me in like thirty seconds(:

  • thanks for such a nice note. Happy knitting.

  • thanks so much it helped me so much!!

  • I always wanted to know how to bind off the stitch. Now I know, thanks to you. :)

  • Thank you! I am trying to teach myself how to knit since the person who got me started moved away! These videos are super helpful ^_^

  • Thanks for writing. I'm glad I can be of help. Keep watching. New videos every week.

  • o my gosh thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much! for the last stich you cut the yarn and then you take the yarn off the needle and put the yarn through the last loop and pull it tight

  • thanks for writing. glad I could help. keep watching for new videos every week.

  • thanks for helping with the last stitch! :) i was sitting here trying to figure out what to do!

  • Thank you thank you thank you

they never show y ou what to do with last stich

  • thanks you too!

keep watching for more videos coming all the time.

  • Hi there! I love your videos, they are so incredibly helpful. I am very new knitter and am really enjoying it.

I do have a question for you though...why do you slip the first and last stitches? I took a quick class at a local community center and she did not instruct me to do this so I am very curious. You may have addressed this in prior videos but I haven't watched them all...yet.

Thanks so much and thank you for posting these videos :)

    Jennifer

  • 10/10. i can finally end my basic scarf. onto something a little more challenging.

  • Your video is awesome! Very easy to follow and simply put! Good job!

  • thank you so much i would never know what to do with the last stitch! its so simple!

  • Thank you so much!

    i finished my first project!

    its a neck warmer

    Hehe

  • omg! THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH for this video!

I finally understood how to end my knitting!

where have you been for 2 years??

    -christina

    Denmark

  • ah thank you like everyone else here I'm watching over vids and everyone's like yeah I get it and I'm like huh? then I watch this and I'm like ohh ty ^_^

  • Finally, a video that made sense. Thank you so much for your easy instructions. I watched two other videos and they totally lost me.

  • Bless you, Judy! It was such a thrill to finally finish my scarf! I watched another video first and found it so frustrating. Even my husband, who has never knit a stitch in his life, was laughing in the background and said, "This video is much clearer and I don't even know anything about knitting." I favorited you and look forward to returning to your other work when I'm ready to try something new. Thanks!

  • Now can you use this casting off kind if your now doing the knit stcih/garter stich? Cuz I am doing a stockneitt (if thats how u spell it lol) stich and is it ok it ok if I bind off this way? Thanks Judy !

  • yes you can!!

  • I can finally finish my scarf!!!! I love you Judy!!! It is such a relief!!!

  • yay!!! how did it come out?

  • I followed the instructions but the casted off row unravelled.

  • Well, that shouldn't have happened. Try again, cast off one by one. As you go along the stitches should be secured. You should never have a stitch that's open. Good luck!

  • Judy - how do you deal with the last stitch when you are casting off in the round? Any tips on how to make it more seamless?

  • Just cast it off, cut the yarn and pull it through to tighten it up. That should work. Please keep watching for new videos. I try to put one up every week. And, I'd appreciate it if you'd click on the ads. It helps me at Utube.

  • I'm with everyone else here! Thanks so much for posting your video technique! I've been having a hard time understanding this method and now i totally understand!!!! I just taught myself how to knit about 2 weeks ago and this type of video is a real frustration saver! Thanks!!!!

  • Glad I could help. Please keep watching for more new videos. I get them out as fast as I can. Keep up the good work.

  • Oh thank you so much! You made it look so easy. I'm teaching myself to knit and have been looking everywhere for a video that shows me how to finally finish ALL my projects. Do you cast/bind off the same way for all stitches?

    Thanks again.

  • Casting on is always the same. Binding off is not. Watch 3 of my videos on Binding off on a Knit Row, Binding off on a Purl Row and Binding off Ribbing.

    Good luck and happy knitting,

  • thank you!!! so happy to have found your video...i've just finished my first scarf...what do you do with the tail once you've cut and pulled it through?

  • Just weave the tail into 4 or 5 stitches then cut if off. Watch my video on weaving ends in.

    Happy Knitting!
