  • can you tell me which episode number is this?

  • This is from the series' final syndicated season (1955-'56), when the setting changed from the Bronx to the fictional suburban community of "Haverville". The opening and exterior sequences were probably filmed on Long Island. In some areas, the series was seen under the title "MOLLY", because those stations thought the original title sounded "too Jewish" [which is probably why Molly Goldberg doesn't directly mention "gefilte" fish in the scene here- in earlier years, she did].

  • She is great,nuff said sister,nuf said.

  • LOL, have you noticed that he does not say whether or not he likes the fish, he just says, "That's your fish Molly". Later, he says, "I'll try to recoup some of my loss". Not sure if he likes it or not.

  • I'm sure it's supposed to be GEFILTE fish (sometimes spelled "gefulte"), but they don't mention it. Why? Can it be they didn't want the show to be too Jewish?

  • I think it's not mentioned simply because that would be too obvious. KWIM? I think it's just a given that it's gefilte fish. The Jewishness really couldn't be any more obvious; there's no way they're trying to downplay it. Mazel tov!

  • i think it's supposed to be connecticut. kinda looks like levittown.

  • does anyone know where the opening shots are of? Long Island, or suburban Bronx?
