  • I just had to leave a comment, NICE. Keep the vids coming!

  • Making money online can be frustrating... Especially when all the guides out there are just using you to make money from you!

Luckily, there's a guy giving out a free guide about making a website, and creating revenue from it

The guide is 100% free, and he also gives you his email adress so you can email him if you have problems!

    Get it now at:

    Tyreus {dot} net

  • hey i went to the website and tried to download the book but i get a blank page for some reason any help? i followed the instructions and everything.

  • Hey Gideon you have probably answered this question before but I could not find an answer so hope you dont mind... On your blog how do you get your videos to show the full screen?

I use a plugin but it cuts off the top and bottom of my vid and is in a smaller screen, I want to get the full size videos to display on my blog, the same way they do in YouTube!

Thanks... (Your free report kicked my ass into video blogging)

  • @30DayAbsChallenge You basically need to make sure the dimensions of your YouTube player matches the dimensions of your actual video. For example, if your video is recorded in a 16:9 aspect ratio, you need to create a YouTube video player with the same aspect ratio.

  • Gideon, you are great, thanks so much!

  • Hi Gideon,

What constant progression in your art of "RapidVideo" presentation !

I wonder what is the focal length you use.

    Canon : EF 28mm f/1.8 USM, EF 35mm f/2, EF 35mm f/1.4L USM, EF 50 mm f/1.8...?

    Thanking you in anticipation,

    Stefan

  • @StefanCherpin Hey Stefan - I use a nifty fifty lens - 50 mm f/1.8. That basically gives me the nice depth of field you see here...

  • @GideonShalwick A big Thank you for your answer Gideon !

What video encoding do you recommend for ease in video editing ?

    - .MOV / MPeg-4 AVC (H.264) by Canon

    - AVCHD (50i) by Sony (alpha 33/55)

    Have a nice day,

    Stefan

  • @StefanCherpin If you're on a Mac, the .MOV format is brilliant! Similar on PC, but not as good.

  • Another rock solid video. What video editing software do you recommend?

  • @MyBaltimoreBrian I only use ScreenFlow on Mac now. But if you're on PC, you can just use Sony Vegas Studio HD - pretty cool.

  • Loved your video. Bit of a difference in terminology...the term most Americans use for horse blinkers or winkers is blinders. I spent too much time trying to figure out what a horse blinker was. :)

  • @annieroe1 lol - oh my apologies - I will double check the lingo next time!

    Gideon Shalwick

  • Wow, right on. Just listened to Personal Power by Tony Robbins. Same kind of working principals.

  • @RCSuperPowers Yeah Tony Robbins kicks ass - he's such a guru with this kinda stuff. Funny enough, I have never done any of his courses, but I think we read the same books hehehe!

  • Hi Gideon,

    Once again great video.

Are some of the others making comments below professional critics or what? I get your message each time!

    Warm regards,

    Arike

  • @arike2 Hey Arike - thanks for the nice words. Yeah I know what you mean about critics. But that just seems normal once you reach a certain level of success - tall poppy syndrome. It's pretty common over here in my neck of the woods. A pity really, but it seems part of reality :)

    Gideon Shalwick

  • Yeah great video as always. Recently became a youtube partner and I attribute that to the wonderful video tips you have created on your youtube channel....Still perfecting my hedgehog concept though...a work in progress you might say!

  • @WayneTully1 Wow well done and congrats man! That is awesome news! Here's to your continued success... and finding your true Hedgehog!

  • Hi Gideon, Great video...I love the layout and the way you use text to highlight points while you speak. Do you teach that in your Rapid Video Blogging course?

    Cheers

    John C Spark

    Expert Travel Planner

  • @yourtravelplanners Hey John - Yes I do teach this inside my RVB course. It's pretty easy with the editing programs I recommend :)

    Gideon Shalwick

  • Outstanding. All great points. And yes, we have to know what others are doing as we continue to grow our business. Great job. No such thing as get rich quick but there is such a thing as get rich with the right strategies. Great job.

  • Cheers Gideon - I can never hear this advice too often! Well worth taking note and posting this everywhere so I don't forget!! I've actually just got rid of one thing that has been a major drain to my energy which I agonised over for absolutely ages. Definitely no regrets though!

    Thank you

  • Another awesome video with an excellent information. Thanks a lot for your advice!!!!

  • Hi Gideon

A big thanks here from a fellow Aussie just down the road at Tweed Heads.

The Hedgehog is simple yet so powerful.

I believe that I will follow this process to help me from being side tracked online.

As you know there is always someone trying to get your attention!

    Marty

  • Great tips as always Gideon. By the way got my Rode mic set up and I just love it thank you. Cheers Pam

  • Hey Gideon,

Your audio sounds great. What is your final encoded audio specs that you upload with, if I may ask? (e.g., what bit rate, encoding format, etc.).

    Thank you,

    Larry

  • @LarryCook333 Hey Larry - Check my export settings on my personal blog at GideonShalwick D.O.T.C.O.M.

  • @GideonShalwick Thank you Gideon. I'm actually a running higher audio bit rate than what you post on your blog. Do you ever run your audio through a pro program prior to output for upload? Do you set your maximum audio peaks to a certain level? A couple years ago YouTube changed a few audio settings and we started setting outputs to -1 db. I recently read -3db works best now. I use Soundtrack Pro and use its compressor function and roll off the low end. Any thoughts/feedback?

  • I, like @SalsTavern, would like to know as well which cam you are using for this video. It's definitely not a Flip. Are you using one of those DSLRs? Love that depth of field.

  • @junowhoim It's my new Canon T2i 550D DSLR camera - it's great in some respects, but it also has it's own drawbacks. Eg, it can only record for 12 minutes at a time, and the files are huge.

    Gideon Shalwick

  • Soft promotion, very nice. Anyway, what is the microphone that you use and that I can see behind you ???

  • @bookingselect I use a Rode Lapel Mic plugged into an Edirol Voice recorder. And the microphone in the background is a Rode Podcaster - great microphone!

    Gideon Shalwick

  • Good advice...lighting looks Great !

    KatrinaMarie

  • Thanks for the great advice!

  • This is interesting stuff, but you need to cut out some of the neologisms. It got a bit OTT at times.

  • @u63mc OTT?

  • @GideonShalwick Lol. I think it might stand for Over The Top?

  • @GideonShalwick

Don't mean to be the lone dissenter here lol.

    OTT= Over The Top

Neologism= Unique word created by someone for something.

    Such as:

"Get crystal vision first, double vision, figure out your hedgehog concept and apply laser focus on that, once you have the hedgehog concept put blinkers on"

"Failure cannot cope with everlasting persistence when you apply laser focus to your own hedgehog concept"

I guess basically what I'm asking is whether this is intentonal on your part or not

  • @u63mc ...I'd say that word neologisms is a bit OTT as I don't know what it means! lol!

  • I like this video. Great tips.

  • Don't you mind blinders?

  • Persistence is definitely key! I tell people all the time – be TENATIOUS! And don’t be too widespread. Good, good stuff Mr. Shalwick – thank you!

  • How do you add the "Subscribe to my channel by clicking here..." and "Click here to watch my video on the hedgehog concept" buttons to your YouTube video? Thanks in advance for your reply.

  • @thePodcastProfessor I just use the annotations feature inside YouTube - really easy and straight forward to do. Just go to the editing interface of your video on YouTube, and then look for the annotations tab.

  • You're the man! VERY nice advice!

  • just 7 mb

    nice

    5\5

  • Shouldn`t "blinkers" be "blinders" ;-)

  • @ierict nah I googled it ;)

  • @GideonShalwick ...both terms apply, but "blinders" is the most commonly used of the two... :-)

...ps: it's great when (our) brains are active, ain't it..? !YAAAAAAAAY! (-:

...another excellent video, Gideon...thanks, mate! :-)

  • @GideonShalwick @ierict It's actually both..

  • @ierict LOL, I thought the same thing... it should be "blinders" because horses don't wear "blinkers"...

  • thanks, nice advice

and i like your video quality

nice lighting and depth of field

  • @reincarnage256 thanks!

  • @GideonShalwick which camera did you use to film this video?
