hell yah, this song was ultimately WRITTEN for sabbath. for sho. and i'm very glad it was. they respected the o.g. and improved on it... what a great fit. -but i only just discovered... aynsley dunbar was the freaking DRUMMER of this group, not only that but a kickass drummer, who was apparently only beat out by mitch mitchell for hendrix's group by a coin toss...??! wow.
hahaaaaa, and, quite significantly for me, i now learn that he was the guy drumming for the mothers in 200 MOTELS-- one of my all-time favorite rock n roll movies. hell yah!!!
as I know, there are alternate lyrics version of the first 4 sabbath albums. the warning version on the alternate lyrics LP should incloud the original lyrics.
judas priest green manalishi (spelling error) is a cover too. fleetwood mac did that original. been listening to that for years too and never knew. search for that one. taker eazy
Did you also know that Fleetwood Mac originally did "Black Magic Woman?" That usually blows people's minds when I tell them that because they don't really know the history of FM. They think I'm talking about the Stevie Nicks-era Mac, but it's the heavy blues FM of the late '60s that REALLY rocks! Oh....and this original version of "Warning" is really awesome, my first time hearing it!
No, I have the record too. The song is credited to Dunbar and 3 other members of the Aynsley Dunbar Retalliation: Moorshead, Dmochowski, and Victor "Brox" Hickling. The credits were inaccurate because they read:
uh...did you read all the comments b4 u commented/ sabbath coveres warning sung by ansley dunbars retalliation. i googled it...found the mp3 and saved it to my computer. i think the link is on my profile..glad to help
Ansley Dunbar Retaliation. Dunbar is a legendary drummer who did time with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, the Mothers of Invention, Jeff Beck Group, Journey, Jefferson Starship, UFO, etc.
This is very cool. I've had the Black Sabbath version for 25 years, but never heard the original until now. Thanks a lot for uploading! I was notified that you posted this as a response to my Sleeping Village cover video, but when I went to approve it, nothing was there. Sorry about that. Don't know what happened.
Good lord, sounds like Danny Bonaducci

I still have the original vinyl disc from 1970. The songwriting is credited to Sabbath. I wonder why, and what happened with royalties......
