@555Dragoon Yes, you can do this with any digital camera. The trick is you have to take two pictures one slightly to the left or right from the other. The distance between the two pics should be about the distance between your eyes.
I am learning to do this but how do I know if the 3D looks good because I dont have a 3D graphics card or monitor but a 3D TV, is it possible to test on 3D TV's?
@WhatTheHeckMoments This method is for making Anaglyph images, see Wikipedia's article entitled Anaglyph_image. The 3D effect can only be experienced by wearing colored glasses. Red / Cyan in this case.
An easier way to do it would be to make a left and right image of something (I usually just move a bit to the right for the respective shot), then use Stereo Photo Maker program to combine and orient them. If the pair of side-by-side photos were leveled correctly during the original picture taking process, the 3D shot will look great. Always use half-color if the image has red, yellow and/or orange colors in it, otherwise flaring will occur.
@mageshino Dubois half-color. If you use Stereo Photo Maker and load a side-by-side image, this color option is available. It softens bright colors to dramatically cut down on retinal rivalry (aka flaring).
Wow I just failed so much! I was on a website that had this video, i clicked on it and it brought me to youtube, hen it had two voices because of the other screen! XD I thought the sound was messed up!
@zeezpp8 If you look at the response video by @creaviteproductions He shows how to do this with only one image. It's a little more involved but very cool.
@OpenTutorial nice n clear tutorials bro, how about the glasses? any cyan and any red pvc will do? or the color value of the red-cyan pvc must match the image color too?

my 3d glasses don't work on this image. i think it's because they are yellow and purple instead of red and blue. where can you get a good set of glasses?
@poolasibugoomba You will need the red / blue glasses to see this effect. Just Google 3d glasses, there are a lot of companies to choose from, some will even send you free ones if you send them a SASE

@PeacockEarings Yes, if you look at the response video by @creaviteproductions He shows how to do this with a picture of a dog. It's a little more involved but very cool.
I dont understand. When i paste a second image on top of the original, the original cant be seen anymore because the second picture is now on top. So how can you align it if you cant see the picture underneath?
Or... you download a freebie stereo photo maker program and create a stereo image with one click woth the right offset :) You only first have to save the 2 pics next to eich other as 1 single photo... the stereo program does the rest.
Personally if I take a stereo pics with 1 camera I only move it about 1 centimeter for the 2nd pic. A to big offset gives bad results and it makes it hard for your eyes to look at the stereo pic with glasses.
Also, as much as I sound pedantic, if you had a pair of 'blue/cyan' 3D glasses (as your video description write-up states), you would have a pair of glasses with two blue lenses! A-hem, I believe you mean Red/cyan? I'm not knocking you. The layers method works well. But is not necessary for novices, working in RGB!
Excellent way of doing things. Have you tried in CS4, selecting both layers and using the Auto-align/collage. Seems to make a whole olot of difference

If you want to do this a lot, download, Stereo Movie Maker and it will do this all automatically.
You make a Left and Right image by taking two images in the same plane 3" apart .
The best way to do this with only one camera is to make a device that fits on your tripod that lets you camera slice sideways 3".
Note that since you aren't doing these at the same time nothing in the image can move.
Otherwise buy a 3D camera you can get one fairly cheaply.
