@Lord5oth the battery life is around 7hrs for browsing and watching movie.. the problem is this device is expensive..but this one is the real tabket i mean u can use full version of microsoft office, you can do editting picture with adobe which is very nice. I used to have ipad, and i sold it then i buy asus transformer.. but non of them are good for doing work stuff in my opinion..
@Lord5oth from the review on youtube. you know that macbook air has the smilar spec as this? and its thinner than this with 13 inch.. and the bttery life is around 7-8hours man.. beside come on.. this is samsung! they will not sell something like cheap tablets in china.. -_-
Tablet are good and all but you would never get full productivity without a full size qwerty keyboard. I might still get one of these because it's a real tablet unlike the Android and iOS "tablets"
@jazzyj12399 thats risk when you put someone as your company Icon. Apple = Steve, Steve = Apple. how about now? I think Apple = Fruit now. all the apple products does not make any sense to me now.
@RedPortiaOne tablets will never be as powerful as desktops or laptops. if you want any real work done, you will be doing them in front of a contemporary computer. nonetheless, we are slowly but surely moving to the direction where tablet processors are "good enough" for the average consumer - web surfing, video streaming, etc.
Once the things are ubiquitous, people will be amazed by the speed and precision of new Tactile Input Devices. No more hands obscuring your display. (and a must for Eye-phone users). The MOUSE will get invented as the ultimate gaming / cad controller, multiple commands and high precision position input on one hand. many attempts have shown no other gaming input device can compete. If that sounds far-fetched, just look at how MS/apple claim 'Fullscreen!' as a new feature today...
@piniginis Not at all. Take a look the next time you watch Tv. All you see is tablet and smart phone commercials. Take a look the next time you go into a Best Buy, Wal Mart, or any electronics store. Tablets are the new trend and laptops will soon become extinct. I speak from 20 years of programming and consumer electronics experience. BTW son, learn how to form a cogent argument rather than a redundant statement
@RedPortiaOne they might become a thing of the past but no tablet can beat a laptop and no laptop can beat a PC. Desktop computers will always stay around. But tablets will be more in use for general public.
@ashkibala1 I think it will change everything to the mobile devices, but with servers running in the background. I would be like in a corporate network. For personal use you have the tablet, for business work you connect to a server and for gaming you dock your tablet and get mouse and keyboard input devices to work with. Also there will be dockingstations with additional RAM and CPU-power to extend the performance of the tablet. Maybe a bigger harddrive too.
@aleksandersandstrom True but the tablet and smart phone revolution is something huge. You can't watch Tv for the night and not see donzens of tablet and smart phone commercials. They're everywhere We'll have to see what the public decides, but I sure am loving my tablet
i guess samsung is the new dell :D

how do you see this device as a replacement of average personal laptop?
what does it lack when it comes to replacing the personal computer at home?
Keeping mind that it has full blown win8OS with "desktop" version application, how do you see it with the combination of:
1- Bluetooth Keyboard ( which it as already)
2- USB mouse
3- USB hub ( for other device connection )
4- external USB DVD drive
5- External monitor

yes i love the idea of tablets.... BUT has anyone taken into consideration that you can not fit a CD into a small tablet :S
DJstatify 4 months ago
@DJstatify with all due respect. CDs are a thing of a past. it's like asking for a floppy disk drive in a computer.

@tuanius ...or an LP-ROM drive, if you're old enough to remember those from the 8bit days.

So very wrong. Its like saying tablet PC's will overtake the use of cars.
The tablet PC fad would probably die out earlier than the PC, but I don't think the PC will die out.
