Bugger that fat lazy piece of garbage Hummer, the Bowler is where it's at.
I can fully appreciate where you're coming from Rob. I think they're called guilty pleasures. Like eating a whole block of chocolate. You know it's silly, you know it's bad but sometimes it can be so much fun.
They may be big engines but some of the more unique ones you've driven or at least seen on Scrapheap are so much cooler - not for their size for the shear insane nature of their bodge job intent.
wow you are so lucky robert . they are the type of machines i would love to have a go on . may i point out at this time i am female ( i am the woman who plays with the boys toys !) no wonder you looked like you were enjoying yourself :-) nothing silly about it .
Yes, I failed to mention that when it came time for me to actually drive that monster, it poured with rain, which was in instant dissapointment and relief. But the noise it made cannot be described, it actually made the grit on the ground vibrate like peas on a drum. Scarey, and 2 weeks aftert this was shot, Samx Smith, the dude with the blonde hair, smashed it to pieces at 190 mph, but survived unscathed. Phew.
8 mpg? Thats a 6,2 or 6,5 Detroit diesel, same as in my Suburban. Why should it get so much less than the 24 mpg i get?

The Hummer is cool, shame about how gas guzzling it is.

Having raced a 69 Dodge Challenger, with a 440 engine, I certainly understand your feeling. Going fast is loads of fun, paying for petrol isn't.

Yes... Socking great toys... why do you think I drive trains for a living? It's because anyone who sticks to Hornby has no ambition...
