I always loved that truck. My dad belongs to #2 and I have fond memories of that truck from when I was very young. If I'm correct it had a Detroit 8V71 w/ a 2 speed rear-end.
I remember 6 had the tele-squirt truck with the same sounding Detroit Diesel. It was always a great sound show in the middle of the night when these 2 trucks would return to quarters after a false alarm.
The truck is now privately owned and I am glad to say that I am one of three that operates it. It will be at the apple blossom parade in Winchester, Va., on April 30th, I believe is the correct date.
