i mea shes rich as heck. but for someone like me the phone has been great savngs. has anybody had any trouble with it??? i just got the w376. guy at radio shack told me its the best starter phone. service has been good so far.
A few years ago kids didn't have cell phones and now they all do putting huge pressure on parent's budgets! Thank heaven for Tracfone's double minutes plan and free incoming texts...it halves the cost of running the family cell phones and with overseas calls costing the same as local thousand of people will be calling their families far away on Christmas day!
@reddalia1 You're not kidding. It's all about keeping up with the Jones, but with a kids twist, ie all my friends have a cell phone. Funny thing, they don't do a lot of actual talking, but boy can they text. That can really drive up a phone bill. Tracfone offers some inexpensive phones and minute plans. This is a great opportunity to teach them how to control and budget their airtime. Great to know that you can also get them at Radioshack.
I have bought my niece and neighbor both a Tracfone for their Christmas gifts. I spent $29.99 on a motorola which is a really nice little phone. I have a Tracfone and cannot believe the money I save by having this pay as you go instead of an expensive contract. I only purchase minutes when I need them and then I get double too!
@papinomontelli I agree about the savings with Tracfone as I've saved enough money over the last 10 years to pay off all my debts and have a really decent vacation overseas! My friends all laughed at my old Tracfones and said I was a fuddy, duddy but I'm laughing now when I see them all changing to prepaid because was right all along!
2001!? haha. Lets try give em a Tracfone 2011. I know my nephews are getting a few new cellphones from Trac this Christmas! My sister really wants to teach them responsibility and I think this is a great way to do it without breaking the bank. Plus, they'll be able to keep in touch with her, checkin, and talk to their cool uncle! This is a great gift for the holidays!

@jen4seas55 We have a mountain of gifts for under our tree this Christmas from all the money we've saved since I kicked our contract out the door and got us all Tracfones! The double minutes plan and free incoming texts made a huge difference to our budget....I just wish we'd done it years ago!

They let you design your cell to suit your life all without a contract. It puts you back in charge and I really like that. Since they utilize the networks of major carriers, you get nationwide coverage, but without the big price tag. Look for some great deals for the holidays..think Sears, Dollar General.
It's amazing that the cost of living has gone thru the roof and the cost of having a Tracfone hasn't changed at all....$19.99 then and $19.99 or less now!! It's still the best value for money prepaid on the market and with double minutes for life and free incoming texts the airtime cost keep coming down!!
Still true even though the phones are so much more up-market now...who would have thought back then that a smart phone with web access would be available from Tracfone with double minutes for life? Tracfone have sure come a long way and they are still the best deal out there!

They agreed that the reception on their phones have been perfect and they thought the gift was very useful, practical & thrifty.
