  • A wonderful video. Well done. Thanks for posting it for us to enjoy.

  • I am not sure if BNSF is still doing it but I do recall that about 1 or 2 yrs ago the UP had a deal with BNSF running a stack train that got on BNSF rails from the Alameda Corridor and running all the way to Chicago on BNSF. Do believe that it was daily with 1 WB and 1 EB.

  • was that a Santa Fe GP7 at 1:39??

  • @UnionPacificRules: Probably a standard cab Geep, like GP60 or GP38.

  • @cchan006 that was my second thought but i was kinda hopin it was a gp 7 lol

  • @UnionPacificRules: It would have been very nice if it was a Santa Fe GP7, and I would have posted a separate video of it for sure.

  • Wow, NY to LA. If you call any train a transcontinental one, this would be it.

  • Awesome vid. I really like the black paint... almost like a vintage throw back to the steam days. Also like the flashing ditchlights. Would hate to see NS become a fallen flag because they are so unique.

  • Neat vid! Are they mainly backhaul trailers coming from the east coast to get reloaded?

Also, do you get the manifest info from a scanner, or are you in the rr business?

Looks like the monsoons have cleansed your skies!

    5 Stars!

  • Nice catch! NS engines are frequent on BNSF trains more and more nowadays! Perhaps another merger is in the making....

  • Well, you already can't spell BNSF without NS, so...

  • Thought this was a UP train until it got to Commerce

  • I don't think UP has trackage rights in Fullerton and Commerce. UP trains go to Pomona after splitting from BNSF in Riverside, and depending on routing, can end up nearby in East Los Angeles.

  • Very nice!!!!

  • THIS TRAIN COME FROM ELIZABETH NJ. but it don't pick BNSF loco until chicago this is a good catch this run though horseshoe curve again very nice

  • Superb video! Finally someone takes advantage of the overhead walkway at Fullerton. Great angle, well done throughout. As far as the crew comment earlier asked by kncwheeler, agree with cchan006's answer. BNSF runs a coal train to power plant in Georgia from Powder River Basin out of Wyoming. Norfolk Southern crews take over the train in Memphis, Tennessee for the final run in to the power plant, then return the empty train to Memphis for BNSF crew.

  • Great catch, those units are sinister all black.

  • Awesome catch!!!

  • Another great video & thanks for sharing it with us..5*

  • Thanks for watching them! Still have more from 2009 I have to edit and post.

  • nice video

  • Haha Palmy in Polish :D Maszzny su super. Pozdrawiam take.

  • Thanks you, Videos very nice, 5★★★★★

  • 5***** !

  • Wow very nice! And an SD60 in there too!

It's neat to see these in different surroundings.

  • NY to LA? That's quite a long distance! Noticed a lot of JB Hunt containers on those wells! I used to live in LINY & JB Hunt had a lot of business there! Surprized to see only 89 cars, was expecting to see over 100 with a DPU!!! But Great Chase!!!

  • Looks good.

  • is it a NS crew all the way across the country?

  • Probably not. The host railroad in a given division (BNSF in this video) should provide crews qualified for that territory.

  • Awesome footage!
