@Theoutcomer10 I go around the weft and behind the braid. I also do a triple stitch at the very beginning and at the end of every track by sewing around the ends at least 3 times to insure the ends are secure.
Grand opening for remy and virgin hair on March 1. First 1000 ppl to register on wwhairitcomescom can get a discount price starting at $45.00 with free shipping.
I got it in cosmetology school but you can get one at Sally's but you can find it cheaper online. Just Google "cosmetology mannequin head". There's different complexions, hair lengths, hair textures, and colors to choose from. Get the adjustable stand too! @shaporsha95
@GlamAddiction101 thanks ur video was awsome matter of fact it could been longer i wanted to c the the side i en joyed every thing it was up close and so easy to understands great job n thanks again
It would definitely be a good idea to add synthetic hair to your braids. But a small amount. You don't want your braids to be too bulky or put extra strain on your hair @witterbrebaby1
This is the first time I've seen anyone take the time to slow down and actually show me how to braid step by step. I've been trying to learn how to do designs so I can put braid in cornrow extensions instead of straight back. What do u do with the two braids in the back? U mix it with all the hair? That manequin looks so miserable, lol.
Hi great video, love that you were so detailed. But for someone like me that wants to sew in their own hair and can not do this braid pattern, can u do a vid to show how to sew in with corn row braids.Thanks.
@SupaStar941 I got it in cosmetology school but you can get one at Sally's but you can find it cheaper online. Just Google "cosmetology mannequin head". There's different complexions, hair lengths, hair textures, and colors to choose from. Get the clamp too!
i seen at the end the "doll" had hair left out to cover the braids when put in a pony tail...should i start with hair already out and then start the braid pattern?? thanx in advance
Yes. Part out a good amount of hair to cover the tracks then put it in a scrunchie to keep it out of the way while you do your braid pattern. @SatoriTheSassy1
This is a great tutorial...I definitely like the braid tucking thing...I wish I could braid from the back up but its just not happening...can you give some tips on how to place your hands for that??? This is the bomb.com :-) subbed
@ Elmore3141 you couldn't possibly do your hair like a negro because honkey hair is so thin, that if I yanked one strand with my pinky five will fall out
@shellyontime I sewed under the braid so that once u pull your hair up you won't see the braid, you'll just see hair. I sew around the track especially if it quality hair because sewing through the track can cause shedding and its harder to manipulate the hair when u want to pull it up in a ponytail. It is a bit resistant where if u sew around it you have bit more leeway. Try not to sew the hair on too tight either. That will break your real hair and the extensions.
What two braids at the bottom?. When your finished, you should only have 1 braid sticking out in the middle of the circle that u finished braiding at. @brittentyspaers
I swear this is the BEST braid tut I've seen on here. Who cares bout it being lengthy. It gets rt to the point n shows everything u need. Girl u def get a *high 5* from me
@searkknight THANKS GIRL....I WILL BE DOING A "SELF BRAIDING PATTERN" SOON FOR THE LADIES THAT WEAVE THEIR OWN HAIR BUT FIND THIS TECHNIQUE DIFFICULT TO DO ON THEMSELVES.
thank you thank you thank you!!!! This is the perfect how to video!!!!! I have searched many videos to get the technique down and yours is the ONLY one that gave extensive details! I watched the entire video and I will watch it again. This is definitely going into my favorites! thank you!!!
@kkimberly2004 YOU ARE VERY WELCOME. WILL BE DOING A "SELF BRAIDING PATTERN" SOON FOR THE LADIES THAT WEAVE THEIR OWN HAIR BUT FIND THIS TECHNIQUE DIFFICULT TO DO ON THEMSELVES. IF YOU TRY THIS TECHNIQUE, LET ME KNOW HOW IT TURNED OUT.
I wanted to to do a partial sew in where i could switch up my part. for ex: (one day I could wear a middle part, the next a side part) I wanted to use your pattern but what should i change up to be able to get the type of versatile sew in look I wanted to achieve ?
@NeCeeLuV you would just make your leaveout bigger in the front. Make it wider and further back so instead of having a small portion covering the tracks you will have a lot more hair to work with. It should be parted wide from the middle of your left eyebrow to the middle of your left eyebrow. That's usually a good amount to ensure you can have versatility with your part.
@Nee717 don't be hatin on Destiny! Lol nah but she is crazy looking and her ras so dry and nappy that it was burning my fingers up as I was braiding. Smdh. I got her with my kit when I was in beauty school.
:) thanks

I have a question! if your hair is short, do you add weave to your hair when you braid it to make it thicker?
