Because they had no valid reason to be there in the first place, it is great that they are helping some of the people. Easy way to explain this Russia invades america and your military is wiped out what would you do? Join a milita and rebel. From the US side you see helping the people. VL, we see this as humiliation and not a gesture of goodwill. Iraq was a prosperous country before; it is now one of the poorest. We watch everyday with utter indignation Iraqi children begging the Yanks for food, water and sweets. It hurts. How would you feel, if you were in their position?

It's a slow process and the daily reality of Iraq is tough, no doubt. Much like a series of pin pricks, these activities will punch a huge hole in the problem, though. Give it time...

Another daily occurrance across Iraq is the bombs you drop on civilians and the random arrests and tortures you commit. You've had four years there and look what you've done: 1.2 million Iraqis dead; 4 million displaced; infra-structure destroyed; water, electricity and fuel shortage in an oil-rich country.

Let's go into this... On your own profile, you talk about #16, and Iraqi Soldier who was killed by an IED. Americans didn't do that, insurgents did it. They've done the same thing to the infrastructure, water, oil pipelines, and more. Anyone who is intellectually honest knows this.

Yes VL, the insurgents did it. But the insurgency, then limited to a few ill-equipped Saddam loyalists, grew phenomenally as the US stayed on and on and delayed the democratic process. 16 was a victim of war and we all know who started the war.

Im so sick of people throwing all U.S soldiers into one category. Just because a lot of them are bad doesnt mean all of them are. We're stuck in this war whether we like it or not, and personally I'm sick of seeing all the abuse that goes on over there, we all know it happens, so it's a nice change to see some of the ones who do still care.
