  • Wow, James and Kim got screwed in this opening credit, didn;t they? lol

  • Dallas is back, so why not the spin-off too? This was a VERY good show. Loved it. And what about Kim Lankford eh? Lovely! I'd forgotten about her, sorry Kim!

  • What month and year was this? Thanks!

  • @jerry5040 It could be anywhere from September 1982 to March 1983.

  • Damn good show!!!

  • there is an episode i remember ,in an old house ,there is a big unit filled with dolls ,one of the girls either touches a doll which sends them to the floor behind all the other dolls is a horrible looking doll, maybe it wasa voodoo doll, was this a dream sequence or an actual episode or wasi having a dallas moment when i dreamt the whole thing/

  • @wizzwamf

I can't tell you the episode name but it was one where Laura Avery had the contract to sell a old hollywood style mansion.

They spent the weekend there and it turned out to be haunted wow I can remember that almost thirty years later but forget where I put my reading glasses lol.

  • @happymike44 That episode was sometime during season 3 - what a weird episode, totally outside of Knots Landing lol. I Loved it, had a real "The Haunting" feel to it lol.

  • @wizzwamf That episode was in season 3 - it was called "The Three Sisters." It was a strange episode - totally removed from the rest, but I like it! I *think* what you're talking about is the part when Abby grabs an ugly doll and stands behind a shelf of dolls. She pushes the dolls off the shelf, and they hit Karen. Everyone freaks out because they think the mansion is haunted, and then Abby walks out from behind the shelf and says she was kidding. You certainly didn't dream it!

  • I like how the first 25 seconds of the music blends into the remainder. This was in order to stretch it out slightly, as Kevin Dobson and Julie Harris had been added.

  • @TheJaking87 That is on the money. That is what I though when I first heard this opening.

  • yes and after this season, they broke off those 25 seconds and made a the variation in the middle of the song. This is the only season (letting out the last ones) where the 25 first seconds are different in the arrangement

  • ?, doesn't this opening have a DISCO kind of feel to it? I just happened to notice it after listening to a Disco album lol

  • Looking forward to this season on DVD,soon I hope.

Season4 was when Knots Landing really got going.

  • That's because they all had Ciji, and the cast had something in common for once that's what the cast stated on more than one occasion

  • Yes Ciji was the thread, great storyline.

  • Cool time capsule of American suburban fashions, cars, styles in the 1980's!!

  • I remember this. It used to come on BBC1

  • I completely agree. This was the best version of the theme.

  • There was always something about the theme that really stuck out this season. I was only 12 or 13 at the time but I loved this one the best.

  • I think I was about 6 or 7 so i vaguely remember this one. I really remember seasons 5 and 6 though I used to hum it and play with my barbies dolls and pretend it was knots landing lol. I had a vivid imagination as a child lol

  • Me too season 4 had a great opening.

  • I don't know what it is about this season's theme but I like this one the best, then season 1, 5, 11 then the 12-14 seasons with the flying paintings

  • You have to be kidding! C'est terrible!

  • I missed John Pleshette in the later seasons of the show :-( Richard was an asshole, but you couldn't help loving him anyway.

  • He was brilliant on this show. Its always something special when an actor can rise above the material.

  • Doesn't Michele Lee remind you a little bit of Lily Tomlin, by the way she appears in the first clip above the: starring in Alphabetical order credit?

  • @ncjuppiter Ya there was something about freakin Richard. Even when he came back for Laura's funeral, there was something very "original" about his guest appearance. You felt like "true family" was back on the set.

  • This was the season when KNots really going going,Mack arrives,Ciji's murder.

  • i remember having knots viewing parties at my place, and friends, this was the anti dallas pm soap, i miss those days!

  • I know that this was passed up by CBS for the glitzier Dallas, but what I think Knots had that Dallas didn't was people that were more like every day people we know, everyone knows a JR Ewing but they aren't like that fully. Knots had people next door with some unusual secrets, Dallas was always on Southfork,

  • Best show ever! spent my late teens through 20s watching this show - all 14 seasons. First and last time that will ever happen. Loved the first years of the show best.

  • Great opening notes on this version.

  • This was my favorite season of the show. The Ciji story tied virtually every character on the show together in some way.

  • This was the best theme out of all the Knots versions. Towards the end the theme became rubbish.

  • This was my favorite version of the opening theme.

  • Mine too;)

  • i love the orchestral version of this theme. thanks forposting.
