Wow. I got a few packs (6) through my Bee and can hover for as long as I want and do slow forward s turns and then vover back (tail in). However figure 8's are a real challenge between controling the rudder and keeping the throttle control proper. I have yet to complete a slow figure eight without having the heli drop out due to an unwitting throttle change. Dang, this is hard! keeping a level altitude while doing slow manuevers with the rudder will take some time to learn!!
Not easy, but once you learn it, which takes a while, you can fly just about any other helicopter you might want. I had no trouble switching to a T-Rex 500.
very nice! I also fly a cessna 172 and this honey bee is killing me to learn. I almost want to give up! Tell me your flying wasn't so perfect in the beginning. Any tricks for beginners?
Heck, my flying isn't anywhere near perfect now! Heck, I think I've crashed my T-Rex 500 five times already!
I did get checked out in 172s after a couple years in the piper. I actually found them a little less forgiving in a cross wind, but once you got the hang of slowing them down properly, they would really touch down smooth.
Hey, sorry so long with my reply, Thnanx for the comment! Man, it's hard to believe winter is back, and I'll have to do my flying indoors on most days!
The camera is an older Canon Powershot G3 still camera with a video feature. There are better ones out now, this one won't allow zooming while in video mode.
It looks like you're getting there. I Gotta warn ya though, a stock Honey Bee doesn't like much wind at all, especially if you're just starting out learning to fly it. It's head speed is too slow to give it the stability it needs in a breeze. If you can find a place indoors it will help you a great deal to learn to hover. Or else wait for a calm day!

@chrisarena Sounds like you're doing good. Learning to fly this little bird takes some time, that's for sure. But I think it's worth it :-)

@Raksu0
Yes. This heli will make a pilot out of anybody with the patience to learn to fly it.

nice control, how many hour to get to this level?
bluethermal 2 years ago
Well, about 16 hours as I recall. Learning to fly the Bee helped me a huge amount when I started flying my T-Rex 500. Thanks for the comment!

Old Muddy Waters tunes are an acquired taste I guess, but I had to go with a song about a Honey Bee!

Hey thanks! For some reason I find side in to be harder than nose in. Go figure.
