  • Needs a little work but not much its beautiful!

  • 1990 civic, 1996 caddy sad isn't it ):

  • Couple. My parents sold it cause we had to move and my mom dicided to buy a broken honda civic that u had to charge to go long distance or it wouldn't run. The caddy sol for 300 and they kept the civic 3 years later it wnt to a junkyard, cause it sat not long after my parents bought it. The interior color was rare. 3 years and still can't find another one on the Internet.

  • @lucasorcorey My dad had a 94 fleetwood brougham and it just clicked and didn't start like u said. My dad tested the starter and it was fine so was the battery. It was also owned by an old cou

  • @riederernicholas95 yeah all it ended up being was one of the battery cables was disconnected. and that coulda happend when my grandpa was trying to find a way to diconnect it because i had it at his house for a week before taking it to storage. but long story short the battery cable got re connected and its in storage but i will have it out in a few weeks and will be driving it :)

  • Its up for 600, hell Id buy it, these things are pretty reliable. Caddy fans adore them, a little work, bezels, a serp belt, and some aficionado would take it off of you easy. Not a bad car for the price, itd get you from a to b very slowly, but always would. Reasonable style, way better than most $600 cars lol

  • Why are those soo cheap over there :'( You'll easily pay $12.000 for a similar one in that shape here in germany -.-'

  • @DRIFTking95M yeah same here in finland

  • the transmission on the 1987-1992 Cadillac Brougham

    Transmission

    4-speed TH-200-4R automatic

  • oh, please come and video my 9c1

  • It's rusty, it's old, its 450ft long, and 20 wide. BUt it's a Cadillac.. God DAMNG it's awesome! fun fact: my '92 Audi 90 has 140bhp.. achieved by the 2.3L inline 5.. this.. has the same amount of horsepower from a 80.000cui engine.. haha

  • Is it for sale?

  • thats gotta be the worst dry rot ive ever seen on those filler pannels. but at least that one starts. i got a 86 fleetwood brougham with 76,000 original miles and everything is in great shape but it wont start. it just clicks. can anyone tell me if its for sure the starter or the starter relay??

  • @lucasorcorey I'd check the battery and battery cables first. Removing the starter is a 10 minute job on this car. If you suspect the starter, take it out and have it tested.

  • @dstarks80 yeah the problem did end up being the connection to the battery. thanks though!

  • Very nice!

  • judging by the grille, i think this might be a 1989 brougham, not an 88. some of the 89 broughams were actually built in 88, so it may have said 1988 on the sticker. but the grille was changed from the 'eggcrate' style to one like u see in the vid for 89. aside from that, sweet caddy!

  • An entire CONTINENT over wheels! Classic exuberant American Car from a time in which size and strenght appearance were something really important. Might add I love the way how it sounds and the horn it carries. It makes it even more classy american!

A real shame its so rare here in Europe. As also a shame American cars havent found their glourious way in world car market since 1950s....

Thanks for sharing Kyle. Despite old, an awesome automobile!

  • This car is ready for the future crack dealer owner! Horrible shrieking fanbelt, chromy, and nasty color combination.

  • A shady car from a shady dealership.

  • 6:27 cat !!

  • Looool 5.0 v8 with 140hp... I miss the good old days

  • Want that horn on my car

  • cadillac D body, the last true Cadillac. Well, the B bodies were nice too, but D bodies were a true cadillac chassis. cadillacs now are just sports cars, not luxury cars.

  • For a 1980's Cadillac, it sure doesn't have a lot of options.

  • Nice condition for its age

  • I WANT IT, I WANT IT, I WANT IT!!.... I will walk from Ontario to NC and drive it HOME!!

  • @strumem90 Or push it lol!

  • @strumem90 you will spend more of gas than its worth the first year LOL

  • @METALBUG999 I don't care about that...lol

  • That's a niger car

  • @TheLimitless35 what about ethiopia, egypt, algeria, etc. niger is a country.

  • Cadi BROME

  • nice

  • has all this equipment but no tape player. now that is weird. i know this pretty much was their budget model but geez caddy. shoulda at least made tape player standard.

  • why does this carlot look like a walgreens parking lot?

  • Classics...

  • That booth is large enough to hide at least two snitches. Shame that none of the 80's plastics (and the roof) have held up.

  • 9 people drive Lincoln Town Cars.

  • New Caddy's don't even compare. Why did they get rid of the old horn? I'd love an Escalade with a big ol train horn.

  • @stopscrewingaround11 they can be fitted easily :)

  • I'd take this car...

  • Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond disliked this video 9 times.

  • the horn looks like a train's one LOL

  • 5.0L/307 cubic inches small block oldsmobile

  • I have a BMW with a 2.0 engine which produces 150hp, ten more than this. And it's a '94 so not a lot younger than this Caddy.

I do love these old American barges though. I'd sit in it for hours looking at that interior. So much character.

  • I'd rather have this than a Veyron

  • @BfromSD1 you could have a thousand of these for the cost of 1 veyron

  • Probably the only Caddy I'd ever be able to afford....

  • lol its all broken worth $200

  • @jagerdager07 All broken? It runs like new and the power features still work, this car is awesome. I'd give 1,000 bucks

  • @Rarrin9378 thats a buy here pay here car. si im guessing at 600 down, prolly 1800 to 2500 give or take a few. but yeah id give a thou as well.

  • land boat.

  • this car used to be the shiz

  • @yummychocolate6 still is in da hood lol. as long as theyre not ruined with 2 ton 24" wheels. thes cars are great and dependable. no theyre not meant to win races Eh?, but wil get you from point a to b comfortably

  • @yamahonkawazuki i agree

  • @yummychocolate6

And it still is once fully restored to its former glory! I swear though, if someone buys it and puts gigantic rims on it I'd probably shoot them and then myself; I CAN'T stand the "donk" culture, it just seems ridiculously stupid to ruin a classic.

  • medea

  • $500 OBO

  • horn is awesome btw

  • HAHAHAHHA same panel issues as James May's car

  • I just love cadillacs

  • 85 mph LMAO

  • Time for scrap lol, just kidding Kyle!

  • @PWRSTR0KER2008 this is one of few obama didnt get. in cash for clunkers. dash needs work, and headliner too. but pretty much thats in internally. a couple trim parts outside, and your good. although it is colored like a 1970s bathroom. id still drive it.

  • that. HORN! *shivers*

  • Loving the old school Cadillacs....better than the new ones which i feel are too plasticy and ride harshly and have stiff seats.

  • @form109 Cadillac has lost all meaning. What are they doing making those high performance vehicles? 556 hp belongs in a high performance chevy not a cadillac. They aren't comfortable anymore. Their seats feel very stiff and not plush at all.

  • @AnonymoussourceL0L seem's they take aim at European brands instead of making plush riding boats.

  • That is granddaddy of all cars.

  • You need to review that puke green car I saw when you panned over the dealership!

  • I like your reviews of older cars! :)

  • its sad how people these days see this cars as crap.. at least where i live people think that way :S

  • Thats Mint you never see anything vlose to that kinda shape with out being restored around my part of Canada

  • 140 hp :(

  • @bubbauknow its 1988.. american v8 engines had low hp but had decent torque.. which is kinda more important

  • This car is a leyend

  • Was The 5.7L The Diesel.

  • @mccrackenphillip yes and no. in this case, it was the gasoline 350. there was a diesel 350 sold by oldsmobile, and fitted in a few other cars. but if i recall correctly, the caddy diesel was 6 litres.

  • @yamahonkawazuki Oh The 6.2L Diesel.

  • A nice old-fashioned American!

Unfortunaly too big for Europe...Drive such a car through Amsterdam isn't a bright idea!!!

  • Does this dealer smoke a cigar, wear clothes too small for him and have a big belly?

  • Comment removed

  • I don't think it is carburated,1988 seems too new for a carb, I believe it's TBI

  • @6speeddakota All 307 Olds V8's had carbs this car didn't get TBI until around 1990 when Cadillac dropped the Olds engines for Chevy V8's

  • @barnie7219 I didn't know that, I appreciate the info, thanks a lot

  • The engine produces just 140hp because it used very old technology and to prevent a 5.0 litre engine from using too much fuel they made it develop the power in low revs making the engine seem more powerful than it is untill you needed it (what some call torque, just hp at a lower rev).

Don't understand how the same company making Northstar engines could make an engine as pathetic as that. Most diesels can rev higher yet it's still noisy.

  • @Ty4ons Because the car was bought by old people in florida who used it to go to church on sundays at 5mph plus GM thought when people stop buying it we will stop making it and people wern't too bothered about the anemic power since they never did drive fast with it=if it aint broke dont fix it

  • @Ty4ons It was the 80's. It was a dark time for performance. Hell, Camaros and Mustangs from the early 80's were making 150hp from 5 liter V8's.

  • Thats no 'she', thats an 'it'..

  • A little work and this could look like new.

  • I LOVE THIS CAR !!!!!!

  • Great video.

  • 5L V8 for 140 hp :D:D:D

  • @Hatimoooo Most of the 5.0L that came out back in the day were not meant for performance. Just enough power to get these cars moving.

  • well as i mean , HOLY CRAP THE A/C WORKS ?

  • omg, that thing has air conditioning ?

  • @tommyd103 WORKING ac. but no tape player. hell it has everything else. BUT a tape player lol, and leather

  • @yamahonkawazuki It's actually missing quite a few options. My 87 Brougham was more loaded than this one.

  • @dstarks80 i had a 73 sedan deville in my collection. that was more loaded as well. FAR more. but the tape player i made mention, because it was just glaring. you KNOW theres no tape deck. was there no power seat either? hell id stll drive it. would give me hte oportunity to build my caddy the way i wanted it. BUT keeping the stock wheels. had a 69 convertible as well. manTHAT was a fun car to drive

  • good video, but im sorry to say the car looks like shit. pardon the language.

  • Nice car. Though it looks to me like somebody did a quickie paint jon. The Brougham insignia on the rear quarters should be chrome. Not poor body color. But again, a nice car nonetheless that for the right person could easily be fixed.

  • AHH SHIT IT'S MR. LAHEY!!!

  • Seems like a bargain until you pull up to the pump to fill that 68L tank. How does $250/month fuel bill feel?

  • @bagelboi66 what is it 4 litres per us gallon? i forget. its really not that bad now. unless you would use this car in a courier role or to deliver pizza or something

  • @yamahonkawazuki I was thinking if it was used as a daily driver, 50L/week would not be unreasonable, and regular unleaded where I live is currently $1.30/L. It would add up fast! Still she was a nice ride in her day. And this car probably isn't any more a gas hog than a half-ton truck is now. Oh and gas is a heap cheaper in the lower 48 than it is anywhere in Canada so maybe it's all relative.

  • Homer Simpson's car...

  • Ha! Where is your quality now, Honda?

  • Sigh, they don't make them like this anymore...

  • I never understood why people put the white wall tires on the inner side of these beautiful cars, they should be facing outward! lol

  • Comment removed

  • 600 thats a freakin steal lol

  • @naterade21 That's 600 down not the price of the car.

  • big car crappy mileage who cares lol i want it hehe

  • Your channel is amazing, one day we get a 200k Benz and the next we get a $2500 beater. Sweet !

  • @saabkyle004 what a tool

  • Intrepid 3.5 please

  • Very nice!

  • @saabkyle004 stalker

  • @saabkyle004 your name

  • I wonder why they use those nasty "plastic filler panels" instead of just making the steel panel slightly longer...

  • This thing's pretty much a battleship! So nasty haha

  • The horn is pretty sweet

  • do a box chevy bro imm looking to buy one :)

  • Kyle, I love the older cars. Anything pre-2008 is your channel's differentiating factor! Keep it up bud!

  • The horn is pretty sweet though.

  • I love reviews of all different cars but this? This is just a car I wouldn't shed a tear seeing it destroyed even though I have a lot of crushes on ugly/old/weird cars. It just doesn't represent a good time in automotive history, especially Cadillac's history.

  • I love these huge American classics, with all the chrome and everything.

  • Great video as well as all the others too superb job really please keep them coming and thanks for taking the time to do what you do

  • THe only car bigger then Kyles. lol thumbs up

  • Thats a lot of car for 600 bucks!

i also think that the 5 liter engine is a bit down on power. It must be running so lean, all spark plugs are white :).

  • I dont understand how a 5.0L V8 only produces 140BHP. We were getting that from 1.6l astra gsi and clio williams in the late 80's and early 90's

  • @NoahRobinson07 It's not so much the HP output of this engine as it is torque. Plenty of torque and built to last.

  • @7477238 1. Torque? Are you towing a caddy with your caddy? 2. Built to last the only thing with more play in the steering than a 80's caddy is cheese burger. Build quality? If you want build quality look at a 80's merc or a roller.

  • @NoahRobinson07 So ignorant. These cars were built to last. Also comparing cars that cost twice as much to this caddy is silly. Try doing some research on torque. This car was built for cruising our vast interstate highway system not the tiny roads of London. It's not a sports car and doesn't pretend to be. The fact that this car is running good despite having minor age related problems is a good thing.

  • @fitz207 There's a reason they cost more. They're better. Cadillacs are much better, with the evolution of the CTS and the CTS-V. However, there engines are not economical. In england if you need torque you buy a diesel. More economical, better for the environment and will keep going for god knows how many years. And please dont assume that i need to do research on torque. If you haven't noticed we also have motorways. I didn't say it was a sports car. And dont call me ignorant.

  • @NoahRobinson07 "In england if you need torque you buy a diesel."

As you said "IN England" This is not England. And when we need a Diesel we'll buy a truck which is what most Diesels in the US are. The CTS-V is not that bad on fuel. You also have to remember our gas is much cheaper so fuel economy is all relative. $3.30 VS $9? you do the math.

  • @fitz207 Our "gas" or petrol. Is 1.32 a litre. and please. You do the MATHS!

  • @NoahRobinson07 You're still paying over $8 per gallon. Which is outrageous. So i stand by my original statement about fuel economy being relative.

  • @fitz207 Its getting difficult to run cars over here. My sister drives a 1.2 clio. and My brother a 1.0 corsa. Alos insurance is double the price of the car for new drivers here!! 2500 for me on a 1.2 clio!!!!!! its a joke?

  • @fitz207 he's mad cuz he cant own it xD

  • @davidthekid2000 That's true. : )

  • @davidthekid2000 Thats the least of things, It shite.

  • Comment removed

  • @NoahRobinson07 GM's 305CI might sound impotent but they did last a very long time which is why you'd see them as public service vehicles a lot. Crown Vics too, they were cheap and easy to maintain.

As for a mid to late 80s MB I can't argue with you there. We had a 190E 2.6 and it felt as solid as granite and ran great. A soccer mom in a van killed it though :(

  • @7477238 I have to say, on the crown vic front, america wins hands down. If you watch police camera action, its all big V8's and then they go and now we've got a clip from england. Its always some fat guy in a astra diesel or a mondeo (bit like the taurus) chasing a teen on a bmx through a housing estate in east london lol.

Man I loved the old 190E's. Currently we have a 2001 2.3K CLK its great. However after the 190E's i think Merc build quality has got worse. Do you have honda hr-v's?

  • @NoahRobinson07

and in 1991 mercedes S500 had over 300 bhp :D

  • @miledplayer ROCK AND ROLL LOL

  • In Sweden this would easily go for over 2000 dollars.

  • 600 bucks not bad this car in puerto rico its more expensive

  • HOW OLD ARE YOU ;-)

  • this car cost about 50.000 dollars here in Brazil. if has 1 ore 2 in the whole country is too much. awesome car.

  • Cadillac Bro

  • Sweet, I want one of these.

  • Needs some major TLC!!!

  • Thumbs up if you can get a video on a veyron ;)

  • The power mirrors sound like sheep. haha. Nice car though :)

  • HEY KYLE! Could you do the Audi RS3? because that car is just.. fucking cool!

  • Now that's a horn!

  • sexy old car

  • kyle find a nice old car to film not a hunk of junk

  • @TrackEmDownKennels for a 20 year old car! this IS a good find! the exterior needs a bit of work but you don't usually see a clean interior on a car that old!

  • @saabkyle004 wtf

  • orgasmic

do the alero and the saturn please!

  • @FanDeAlguersuari I already have videos on those cars :) at dad's dealership

  • Comment removed

  • @saabkyle04

Kyle, but you have videos on this car too, it seems you repeated :) I watch your vids religiously (hope you do with mine) and you showed us a similar brougham cadillac when you were at All City, in Indian Trails. You should do an overview if they're different than the ones you already toured. Some cars to think about I haven't seen yet on your channel

    -2012 Chevy Orlando

    - 2012 Nissan NV series

    - 2000 Mazda MPV ( one I've been requesting for a while)

    - 1990s Oldsmobiles

  • @saabkyle04 yeah I know but you usually don't do reviews like that. I think people wants to see cars like this one, not only new cars

  • aha Saw this in a film yesterday, The Client.

  • 140hp from 5000cc, lol.

  • James drove this in Top Gear!

  • What happened to the headliner?
