  • A truely remarkable recording of a most beautiful piece of music set to a great a work of Dylan Thomas - fantastic sound and theatre - well done Dunvant!!!

  • I've never thought of this as a satire. My feeling is that Thomas loved the people he protrayed; all human life is there from the poet to the poisoner, yet he loved them all.

  • @kevinastraw it was meant to be a harmless satire of the proud welsh male choir

  • @3tangle3 What it was meant to be, and what it is, then, are two different things. This is not a satire.

  • @kevinastraw I would nt care either way I still enjoy listening to it whatever....bigger fish to fry in this world like science research to care about bach :D

  • Diolch mwynhais i yn wir.

  • The Brythonic peoples are the best :) Falch o fod yn Gymro

  • Please send my the partituur

  • Ardderchog! Diolch yn fawr iawn

  • Probably the finest wordsmith portrayed by this humble but wonderful choir.

  • I sung with an Australian male (Welsh of course) choir for nine years, and did this song at many a concert. This performance has to be one of the most beautifull versions I've heard to date. Great singing chaps, I still get the hwyl when I hear this one, especially sung like this.

  • i live in treorchy and im a fan of the treorchy male voive choir. and now im a big fan of the dunvant choir

  • Bravo Bravo

  • It is worth pointing out that Dylan Thomas intended this prayer as a satire on prosy mehodist preachers. That takes nothing from the magical sound of this fine choir

  • ineffably sublime. Cymru am byth!

  • Beaut of beauts !

  • i love this song my dad came from Dunvant

    lovely RIP dad dad.

  • Beautiful! Worm's Head is one of my favorite places in the world too - I have often walked there - it's peaceful. Worm's Head is very much like Point Reyes National Seashore in California, where I now live. Beautiful rendition of the song.

  • Ineffably beautiful. This made me cry -

  • Beautiful, beautiful, I've just sent this link to my sister and b.i..l. in Australia, like me, Welsh exiles.

    Thank you!

  • Either the Rimsky Korsakov have copied this or else the Anglicans copied the Russian Orthodox Polyphony

  • @LiturgicalChants The Tune is called Troyte's Chant No.1, written by Arthur Henry Dyke Troyte, born May 3, 1811, Killerton (near Exeter), died: June 19, 1857, Bridehead, England. Second son of Sir Thomas Dyke Acland, he was educated at Harrow and Christ Church, Oxford (BA 1832), and took the name Troyte in 1852. He studied law, and had an interest in science. For reasons unknown, he changed his name to Troyte in 1852.

  • Gut wrenching beautiful! I have had music as my love for many years. This was unexpected find for me. And Yes! This should be played a my service!

  • The map under the stats tab doesn't look like Llangenith to me.

Maybe they sang elsewhere and it was dubbed onto the film. Well it would have to be what with the howling wind.

  • Incredible!

To combine my favourite piece of Dylan, with the backdrop of my favourite place in the whole world!....Llangenith and the King's Head I love you!

    Cymru am Bythe

  • at my funeral please xx fantastic

  • FANTASTIC!!! more please Dunvant

  • Dunvant does this song very well, as does

Pendyrus Male Choir; the folks from Pendyrus will know that I cry when I hear this song..they sang it for me when they were in Prince Edward Island

I thank them, Dunvant and all Welsh Choirs who sing this song..it says it all

and only when Welsh Male Choirs sing it.

    Diolch yn Fawr...

Gitangli (slji--you all know who I am)

  • I heard the dunvant live in the U.S. years ago, and I am thankful for this video, and chance to hear them again, very well done and beautiful it is, diolch

  • Lovely sung and very touching. Thank you!

  • D ~

Here you are talking my language ~ this selection, its heartfelt singing and almost equally awesome aerial photography make for a PERFECT moment of nostalgia.

And ~ even from boyhood, and a guiding factor in my my own career ~ a growing hunger for nostalgia and for its expression has been & always is an underlying part of singing.

Bravo to You for this Video! A

  • Some events actually bring us to a halt, and all thoughts are focused at once to a point of rapture, surely this is one!

  • A touch of heaven,one of my favourite pieces.Wonderful!!

  • Doesn't matter what part of the musical spectrum you usually listen to. This is a stunning piece of music sung by one of the best choirs in the world. Diolch yn fawr.
