The Cayman models are soon going to evolve into successful 911 killers, if they arent that already. I cant see paying the price difference for a 911? i mean, just to say, I have a 911? lol give me a break...if anybody just utters the word Porsche, its powerful enough, the Cayman is a car that will convert 911 owners over. What id like to see Porsche do, which they probably wont, is add AWD to the Cayman, big deal it will add weight, and cost 2k more, but you'd have an all season animal!
@6UNLEASHED but there are idiots out there that think that they are better than cayman drivers just because their car has its engine in the wrong place.. trust me I have experienced it.. the cayman is better, law of physics.
@marpetpet if you wanna correct me, do it right. you should have said "you do, if your first language is english". little hint (just nice to know): there are more languages than just german and english in the world... btw: i don't care that you called me a pretentious wanna be and i also don't care if you reply to this. so have a really nice day and have fun fighting with somebody else on the internet ;-)
@marpetpet little update: since you're from belgium, your first language is (probably) dutch and/or french, but that doesn't really make your comment better (btw: the german pronunciation for BMW is the pretty much the same as in french. the german pronunciation for mercedes is also very similar to the french one. now you don't have to wonder anymore).
@Sicklehead88 - Actually I speak English (1st language), French, Dutch and German. And I studied these languages at Oxford University, and have lived in the relevant countries. So believe me, I know how to pronounce words in their context. Pronouncing Porsche with an "e" is like saying "Paree" for Paris if you're not French. It is just pretentious and incorrect usage. For the rest, I apologise for my rude language... it was unnecessary.
@Sicklehead88 you do if youre not from germany. tell me do you pronounce mozzarella the same as some one from sicily? color, colour like the UKer's? if you pronounce it porsh-a i would bet youre a little light in the loafers
This car handles much better than the 911 and changes direction much quicker. I know this first hand from attending track day events with the Porsche Club of America. If Porsche won't fit the Cayman with the 911's engine, a tuning company should do it for them. The 911 is inherently flawed with a rear-mounted engine, but Porsche's engineers have failed to admit their mistake despite 47 years of production. Give the Cayman more power and restyle it to look properly stunning.
The new PDK is said to be better than manual and the best auto in the world. Many people that swore they would never own a auto tran that have tried the new PDK now swear they would never own anything else; many of which never even use the paddle shifters because the PDK does it better than you can.
you pronounce "Porsche" as "POR-SHUH"

PDK is *not* an A/T, it is an automatic M/T, i.e. dual-clutch sys. There is no torque converter.

what's really sad in the US at least most new caymans are built without lsd.

I don't know what Porsche was thinking when they made the limited slip only available with pdk.
defears3 3 years ago
The limited slip diff will available for the Manual Gearbox as well
ulmi1988 3 years ago 7
looks like the updated their website cause before you could only build a cayman with lsd with pdk, they even had a note mentioning this.
