I'm playing the 7th smphony 1st movement. You are constantly playing repeated octaves, your pinky and 4th finger often play quavers and you need to play 4 or 5 lines at once. Plus the scale and scope the music functions on are quite above a sonata or even concerto. Physically it's as demanding as a concerto, minus the extravagent showy passages and cadenza's, but musically you have to be more mature. I'm 30 and this is the first time I've felt ready to attempt a Beethoven Symphony.

I can also hear the voices separated out more clearly, so it really helps me appreciate the genius of Beethoven's writing, but the performance of the transcription is very tame in my opinion - the vigor and vitality of Beethoven's orchestral score is lost, though this interpretation has an interesting wistful quality to it. Is there anyone here acquainted with the score and has an opinion on the difficulty in terms of playing... pls let me know.

This is so awesome, hearing this on a piano makes it much easier to tell all the different voices apart, it's much clearer.

I like it much more than the orchestral playing. There is so much emotions.
