I believe you could have played your 45 RPM disc and recorded directly to the computer; Not hard to do this w/ 33 LP's and 78 RPM disc. I been doing this myself for the last 5 years. AS for the song absolutely a must for a music library!!!
Thanks soooo much for posting this rarity. The problem with mainstream radio golden oldies formats in general is that it's based on some dirtbag radio consultant's "well-tested Top-1000 A-list oldies" which is a VERY small fraction of the total output. It obviously includes the Kingsmen's A-list version, but *MY* oldies format would also include THIS Sandpipers' version and also the original 1957 R&B version by Richard Berry.
I fully agree with you - We had a radio show in Portland, ME where Bill O'Neil would play lesser known oldies & give the audience the historical background to each songs. Sadly, the show was replaced with packaged music sent throughout the states, always the same and not representative of all the musical output of the sixties. Sandpipers did great musical arrangements to their songs. Thank you,
@phil1958uk somehow this group was able to either slow down or speed up songs by other groups and make these songs their own. Unbelievable how the Sandpiper versions have lived longer than the orignals in many cases. You picked up on that nicely... gosh, I'm in nostalgia heaven right now.... cheers
listen this -Righteous Brothers You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' (45 RPM)- from 2.05 min. IT'S THE SAME MUSIC!

googers100 1 week ago
@googers100 I could have done that but I have 20 working reel to reels in the house and only one turn table which is not in the computer room.
I find running from the R2R easier.

Jesus -play it on 45, if that don't work, try 78. Add fuzz.

Wow, that's a clean rip. I've digitized a few of my Grandpa's records direct and they don't sound like this at all.
Not sure what transferring through reel does for you though.

@TheSpecKK Convert it into WAV format, not MP 3.
Then you can also play it on the CD player.

@00lenaa Thank you great that you liked it, this is an old classic from the 60's.
I liked it when i was about 6 or 7 years old when my parents often played it.
Now this 45 record still plays well.

Louie Louie is a rock classic but I never thought it could be a great ballad. Nice job.

i like the stereo version a little better, because it adds to the effect, but i still like this one, being the original and most widely heard.
