  • this is similar to the version he did for MTV Unplugged right about the same time...

  • Who was drumming for this performance? Jeff Porcaro played on the entire HT album.

  • @niamhorourke I think it was Zach Alford.

  • I have the entire performance, all 3 songs but it has been blocked worldwide by NBC. Last night i tried putting up Living Proof without ANY mention of SNL and it immediately got blocked. NBC is overly protective of THEIR STUFF!!

  • @POINTEBLANC91 upload it to megafile/video and link us all up :) please

  • Bruce is a great guitarist. Anyone that says Bruce was "never really solo-worthy" is not familiar with his guitar work. Check out Prove It All Night from 1978, or Because The Night from 78, or Roulette. I think what he was going for, on 57 Channels from SNL, was a distorted, feedback, TV signal from outerspace, type of feel. He could have done Chuck Berry double stops or whatever but he wanted a weird guitar effect, that's what he was going for.

  • Do you have living proof from this show?

  • This has to be a tip of the hat to Tom Waits.

I Love Bruce, and I loveTom, so I'm not getting my underwear tangled up. It's great!

  • This has always been one of my favorite SNL live performances of all-time, to tell you the truth. Then again, I really love noisy/feedback-type bands (Sonic Youth, etc), and I just thought this was a really interesting version of the song.
