Until that happens, I would gladly board an Airbus without hesitating, given that the current statistics indicate that it has some of the safest planes out there, certainly much safer than Boing in that matter if past experience and statistics are any indication.

Even the US military realizes that Airbus is superior and chose them recently to rebuild their refueling fleet.

this is a good point LennieMelvin, .. but people always argue about how common car crashes are. The thing is that the statistics for car crashes include so many anomolous events like drunk people crashing into trees and old folks driving into ditches. the types of deaths and damages that result from plane crashes are much different. even the thought of surviving a plane crash is much more traumatic than surviving a run of the mill car crash. knowing stats.. i still think this happens too often.
