yeah yknow and i doubt this one is based out of aquarium release but someone who got bored of perth having no fresh water fishing left and decided to bring in some new "blood" They are aggressive up stream swimmers and a strangely convieniantly placed lake in the new rich southern river was found to be full of em last year. They probably headed up the drain during winter and now have swarmed into the canning.
Some one in the neighbourhood probably returned from the pilbra with some "mates".
Yeah they are pretty aggressive. Most damns around Queensland actually have signs up saying to kill them when caught, and they are actually naturally occurring in some but there are just millions of them to go round.
@Dudits15 I just caught a 2.5lb one in a lake over here as update on that, If your like me and lived in perth spending a lot of your time down by the riverside you'd notice all the fast breeding slow moving gambesia are now dissapearing rapidly...
By next year I think perth "fresh" waterways will soon be like your dams over in qld.
@Gantzer1 I really couldn't tell you if they have bred yet, there are so many fish in my ponds that its hard to tell, but I have not seen any smaller ones yet so I'm guessing they haven't bred.
what bait did you catch these on?

@123bradiscool
Prawns, really tiny bits, or you can use cooked rice.

Great fish though but massively irrasponsible to bring em in and do that shit even if they are native to australia.

@shockedshitinamouth Hey mate sorry for late reply.
Yes I know they can be vicious, but for some reason this batch was never really aggressive towards other fish.
