  • 1:30 the vampire waiter

  • look at the guy at 0:50 he's a fat young monopoly man

  • I have always liked Mr. Lewis's sence of humor in his videos. I think THAT got him more chicks in The 80's than anything. I will always admire him for that; I figure he got laid by that chick in this video. What do y'all think?

  • Nice how he circles her like a shark ready to go in for the kill !

  • It appears that John Oates makes a cameo as Huey's girl's dancing friend...........

  • The vampire man is high on cocaine....Look at the eyes. 1:30

  • @TheDutchLoyalist That's just Mario Cipollina hamming it up.

  • Is that a cowbell I hear? You can't go wrong w/ a song w/ handclaps or cowbell!

  • My favorite song of all time.

  • Dear Vevo, Let me start by saying that your filthy dick-rich corporation sucks youtube dry of democracy and fun. Ever since these big companies started paying off youtube so they could post their shit...etc, we have been getting flagged for infringement every time we include a song we like in our videos. This is YOUtube, the place where we can post OUR videos. To people who want greedy corporations expelled indefinitely from youtube - thumbs up and copy this into Vevo videos.

  • @scotthovsepian88 Just because it is YOUtube doesn't mean you own the right to post musicthat you don't own the rights to.

  • @knickknack07 Maybe not, but nobody can censor anybody or even tell anybody not to post music videos from the 80's.

  • @scotthovsepian88 and the commercials!

  • Huey You Rock .... Dam amazing voice

  • i remember when clubs were like this at the end of the night.

sex was easy to get. the best sex were strangers!

  • i remember when clubs were like this at the end of the night.

    sex was easy to get.

  • I'd still like to know who the doll in the video is.

  • @kbswzawl0 Yeah, so would I!

  • @kbswzawl0 Signey Coleman

  • @oneplayeraway Thanks ! 1player

  • Classic. The cute girl in the vid looks like a thinner version of Victoria Jackson from SNL from back in the day.

  • It is indeed catchy, but Lewis and company can't take the credit. It's another Chinn/Chapman classic.

  • please make a time machine to back to the 80's:(!!

  • I was born in 1988 and I approve this song.

  • Girls I know don't have heart and soul, but they're hot and cold.

  • Huey Lewis and the News is an 80's legend. But you have to admit that they werent your typical looking band for the 80's. Huey really looked like your average " joe" on the street. No makeup, no funky hair or fashion but it didnt matter, their music is what made them so damn good! And the majority of us from the 80's knew it ! :-) I know I always loved them and even their videos were awesome! This song here is my favorite from them! I love the 80's sooo much! It ended too soon. Miss it ! :-(

  • I had a pair of the skinny shades. And yes..I was...WAS just as cool. LoL

  • @DukeofDudes74 well, skinny jeans are back

  • God I miss the 80s so bad sometimes....life was soooo easy...have a job..come home..party...go out...next day...go to work, come home, party, go out..lol...weekend comes..no end in sight...How much fun was it....

  • @davehutchinson67 Why is it any different now?

  • 2:17-2:30,Metallica! \m/

  • I saw them in Fort Worth two nights ago. They were incredible!

  • u can't go wrong w/ the 80's dance scene backdrop...yeah huey!

  • Great song, a classic. He is handsome. Thanks

  • This takes me back. Thanks!

  • This is my song.

  • the heart of rock and roll is still huey lewis.

  • I miss the way everyone gave it socks on the dancefloor back then even if they couldnt dance. I suppose today people maybe afraid of ending up on Facebook or Youtube.

  • great song driving round town in my new chevy camaro t tops out wow love this song

  • jaime son style ,

  • is that Tom Cruise @ 1:29

  • great song oh i have to say it in the cool pc terms its epic xd uber look at me ma im one of the cool kids now smell OL

  • Wow really... racism? They are not racist. To back up the point that iamsbeliskquake said about The Beatles, they refused to play at segregated concert venues when they came to America… Can we just ENJOY the music?

  • You're dead if this song doesn't make you move

  • @GialloHorror checks pulse* well, im good

  • Huey Lewis LEGEND! 80's music was so much fun. I'm dam happy I grew up with this stuff.

Today's "music" (and I use that term as loosely as Britney Spears is) is shallow, empty, fabricated horsehit, with zero meaning and no substance.

    This is where it's at!

  • @GialloHorror i feel so bad for kids today with internet 500 channels of cable etc......cause nothing is special anymore....this was great i was born in the 70's and i grew up during the 80's THIS was music....not this shit out now...

  • @MsDeandrea Don't feel bad, feel bad for the idiots of my generation!

  • @GialloHorror Yes, I am with you. I grew up with this stuff, too, after college and all that. Huey really is fun, I agree with your sentiments exactly. I guess I can say, "Rock on Huey!"

  • @GialloHorror I'm with you on that one. I too am so happy that I grew up in the 80s listening to this stuff as well. The Music of today doesn't even compare to the level of substance and energy that 80s music put out.

  • @GialloHorror I coulden't agree more, i mean....look at Katy Perry :X yuck! The 80's indeed had heart & soul bay-beh!

  • @GialloHorror why does a positive comment about one artist have to include a negative one about an other? Huey Lewis and the News is my all time favorite band and Britney Spears is my favorite singer. There are songs that make you think, others that make you move, songs that are deep, and songs that are fun. Music is music for different reasons and because it's so different it's not fair to compare apples to oranges.

HUEY LEWIS AND THE NEWS ROCK BECAUSE HUEY LEWIS AND THE NEWS ROCK!

  • @slappin24 Sorry, just stating a fact. And facts are if Britney spears was a 45 year old, 300lb woman she would NOT have a record contract. She cannot sing, never could sing. Her music, and voice are aided by computers because she cannot sing a lick. It's why she lip syncs her concerts.

Much in the vain that if Bieber was a 45 year old bald guy, he'd have no record contract. Today's "music" is not based on talent, it's based on looks, and that's why music is not what it used to be

  • @GialloHorror You are obviously going by the small percentage of what you see and hear, exaggerated stereotypes, and definitely not facts about Spears.. What I was saying is that there are so many forms of music that of course they don't all appeal to everyone in the same ways, but why do we have to compare them? They're different styles and made for different reasons.

  • @slappin24 They are, absolute, facts about Spears. Are you telling me she can sing? She has a good voice? Why is EVERY single song she performas computer aided? Why does she lip sync? If she was 45 and 300lbs she'd have a record deal? I doubt it.

Why compare? Because everything is compared to one thing, or another. It's not just music. Sports, movies, television, etc etc etc, are all compared to different people or eras.

30 years from today, nobody will remember Britney Spears, Gaga, Bieber

  • @GialloHorror EVERY single song? Please, continue to live in your ignorance. Doubt you've heard every single song by her, and if I were to show you raw demos, videos of this past tour where she sang live, and unreleased songs, you'd still stand by your "facts".

I'm just saying, comparing is useless. THINGS CHANGE. So just enjoy the damn music for what it was and is. I'll try to take your word on that "30 years from today" thing; her career has already spanned more than 13 years so we'll see..

  • @slappin24 Boy, it's amazing how many times the word "ignorant" is thrown around.

Yes, things change, no shit. Does that mean things shouldn't be compared? Does it mean thing won't be compared? Of course it doesn't. Deal with it.

And if you want to call her "career" 13 years, go ahead. She was irrelevant for about 6 of those years. I will always stand by my "facts". She's a, talentless, whore, who got a record contract by sucking as many dicks as possible. She's trash, so is her music.

  • @GialloHorror Dude, she was singing/performing for Disney at the age of 8. That's how she got into the industry - sucking dick was just a side benefit for every guy she's met since puberty. As for all todays music being crap, the diff between your gen and today's music scene is that most of the best music written today doesn't get on main stream radio. Blame the industries, not the musicians and spend some time digging for the great new stuff available underground/online/live if you care enuf

  • @sighsolo That's, actually, a good point. I should say "mainstream" music when I mention it, because that is the music I hear on teh radio, and that's the music I'm speaking of.

As far as Britney perfomring for Disney, LOL! Disney has a bunch of, no talent hacks. Besides Justin Timberlake (whom I don't care for) I can't think of any, recent performers, or actors who were worth a shit, or had talent to come from Disney

  • @GialloHorror Christina Aquilara has one of the most powerful/versitile voices of all time (Disney). Selena Gomez is brilliant and a consummate pro in the studio (Disney). There are many more...and that's the point. There are all bred to be corporate poster children of course, but very talented nonetheless.

  • @sighsolo I agree with Aguilera. I don't care for her, but she does have a great voice. She's, actually talented. Slenea Gomez? LOL! I think not. And you've mentioned 2 people that came from Disney out of how many?

Disney is a pile of shit, and a empty shell of what it used to be. My entire point of my, initial post is that music from the 80's was, and is, FAR superior to any, mainstream music today. Many HOF'ers from the 80's, very few from today

  • Why does it seem that arguments always pop up on great music videos like this. :\

All of you just shut up and listen to the music. (And btw: Nobody cares if you're 13 and you're listening to this. Your age doesn't matter; music like this is timeless.)

  • 80's

  • Hey Rodney...this song is for you , nephew...desde Nicaragua. 1990 when you was a little boy.

  • for my adorable daugthers, este recuerdo desde San Francisco, Ca en la escuela de Corpus Christi( 1986) I ... I like this song,

  • LOVE THIS SONG

  • Their best song by a long way !!!

  • X-Men at 0:27

  • Harry Shearer at 1:00?

  • And, I do not know if this comment is appropriate or not, but almost exactly 22 years to the day when I first heard this song on 1050 CHUM in Toronto (even though I was up with my parents in the Haliburton area that particular day) on October 16, 1983, I wound up sending a fan e-mail to a woman who I have not only always been perpetually smitten with, but who also has a pet Golden Retriever named Huey as well.

To any die hard Denver Broncos fan out there, it was a certain lady named Renee.

  • It was because of this song that I got the album "Sports" as a Christmas gift for Christmas 1983.

For the record, "Heart And Soul" was released as a single back in October 1983 ("I Want A New Drug", on the other hand, was not released as a single until early 1984).

Even to this very day, "Heart And Soul" is still my favourite song off "Sports".

  • This is sooooo 80s that I loooove it so much!!!

  • I always used to envy Huey for getting all the girls in these videos but after seeing guitarist Chris Hayes resting his head on that babe's enormous chest (3:08) I think i'd rather be him now. Besides, who wouldn't want to play lead guitar for one of the coolest bands of the 80's?

  • Please give racism at rest already! Geez, this is one of the super hits of the 80s and someone ALWAYS finds a way to bring racism into the equation. It the 21st century let's please leave all the racism, hate and bigotry in the past. America will never live up to her true creed if the racism doesn't stop. Steps of soapbox now. Thanks for reading.

  • theres a problem... i cant get the volume high enough to hear it fucking loud.

  • They recently started playing this on the radio a bunch of times and I'M ADDICTED. My hat's off to all of you who were fortunate enough to grow up in the 80's. Unfortunately for me, they're gonna play the likes of Ke$ha, Rhianna, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, and a whole bunch of other crap at my high school reunion :'(

  • Huey Lewis and the news is great!

  • 16 people have heart but no soul

  • sweet 80s classic song/video. Saw Huey about a year ago...group still sounds great

  • Heard it on the radio and had to crank the volume

  • The eighties ruled, todays music sux.

  • This song didn't do nothing to me in the '80...now it brings a smile on my face...

  • oh shit, vampires?

  • Does Huey Lewis remind anyone else of Mike Rowe kinda? Love this song. If I ever got famous and made a music video, it would be like this. Actually, exactly like this. I'd just cover this song.

  • Looks like 15 people don't have a Heart & Soul

  • NEEDS MOAR VIEWS!!!!!!!

  • Huey is the man

  • great song love the video.

  • that girl is my 80's twin!

  • @TheTrisha1005 Is that you and Steven Tyler in your profile pic?

  • 2:31 he has a cheeky peep at her boobs

  • I can't listen to HLATN without thinking of Pat Bateman...Anyone else?

  • I think Huey is a member of the KKK all of his lyrics are obviously racist, either that or i just dont get them ....................What a bunch of asshats

  • @boskobadass I don't find anything in his lyrics that are racist. Please enlighten us as to what specifically you are talking about.

  • @corey0007 Llisten baby , its called sarcasm

  • @boskobadass KKK huh? from san francisco? there isnt a chapter there, so you are most definitely wrong. all the lyrics are of sexual nature and nothing racist at all. why is it racist ? im guessing your black and u cant understand music that hasnt been remixed by dre, ludacris or pitbull

  • The original version of this song was recorded by Exile in 1981.

  • @GeneralParadigm Thanks for the info. I did not know that so I went to listen to the original. Frankly, I like both.

  • the drummer reminds me of Jeffery Dahmar

  • Nothing against ol' Huey but the (original) Bus Boys version is vastly superior to this.

  • The chick at 1:09 looks like a competitor from the East German olympics women's swimming team.

  • Stop feeding the troll, people.

  • the vampire is so funny haha

  • I miss the 80's :(

  • Lol at 1:09

  • San Francisco what up?!!!

  • @discokidx1 Huey Lewis....great Bay Area guy!!

  • Anyone knows what the name of the hairstyle (The main girl)

    Thanks.

  • @RealityCheckHero settle down. these are the 80's...even LL Cool J used all white women in his going back to Cali video.

  • @RealityCheckHero So it's not racist for black people to have their own award shows where no one else but blacks can get in, thats racist, so how about you stfu, stop being a whiny little bitch, and stop calling other bands and such racist just because they have all white people, you ever stop to think that maybe thats all that was available at the time, don't accuse unless you know your shit, and FYI, this band is not racist, nuf said.

  • @RealityCheckHero how is it racist? have u ever thought that he couldnt find any black musicians? The Who were all UK whites but they were friends with Jimi Hendrix who was an American Black. nobody considered the beatles racist in the 1960s so how is it racist when there just so happens to be a group of only whites in a band. half of the rap groups are all black and do u consider that racist. it wasnt racist in the 80s. its not racist now.

  • @iamobeliskquake don't feed the trolls

  • @iamobeliskquake Well said sir.

  • Comment removed

  • @RealityCheckHero

Probably. Something wrong with that? :P

  • @RealityCheckHero Oh and at 1:12 there are 4 black people dancing. So yeah. :P

  • dude u just called one of my favorite bands shitty, im not even gona start with u. why bother.

  • @RealityCheckHero

YES! MORE RACISM! Does that help the situation or just make you seem like an asshole in a day and age where racism is what you make it? Hmmm...we have a mystery on our hands my friend!!!

  • @RealityCheckHero What a stupid comment. That's like saying there's something wrong with The Jackson 5 cause they're all black.

  • I FUCKIN HATE VEVO. It shouldn't take 3 mins for the video to load....BEFORE IT EVEN BEGINS TO LOAD. (No, my internet is not shitty).

  • @CommodoreCronauer it must be cause mineloaded in a few seconds :)

  • @thebat991

Naw because I download any other non-vevo video without a problem. When I get a vevo video, I get stuck on that circle made of circles that just light up.

  • Huey and the News hit #8 in Billboard, 11-26-83. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • Lot of things happen to me in 1983 but the main events happened when this song was released. I was 17 when I graduated high school, been in 2 broken relationships and started my 3rd one to a girl I married 4 years later. Positively one of his finest songs ever made. A timeless classic worth playing over and over again. I recognize the fashions, I use to wear my hair long and always dressed up like a prep. OMG, time sure has changed since those innocent years. Wish I can go back and enjoy.

  • man i hate it when you finally score a woman at a party and want some alone time in a closet, but theres a guitarist shreading in there.

  • I saw Huey Lewis and the news performing last night at the Ottawa Bluesfest , they was great !! andt hey sound so good !! what a show !!

  • Huey was brilliant. He knew he had limitations as a singer & it never stopped him from putting out some great albums. Look at the guy right now...he's making a killing just touring nonstop.

  • Huey was not the greatest singer, but man did they put out some great damn music!!

  • When Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically.

  • @Jacklw25 Hahaha, Sounds so catchy. Not only is this song about the pleasures of conformity and the importance of trends, but it's also a statement by the band itself.
