Albert Pike letter to Mazzini hoax or genuine... some info on his supposed letter

The best evidence for it being a fraud is the casual and modern use of the term "world war". In the late 1800's the term would have needed explanation to be discussed at all. Instead of any such explanation or discussion it is used casually as if the term was widely understood and it wasn't. Before WW2 in fact the first WW was generally referred to simply as The Great War.

The letter never existed, it was part of an elaborate hoax, using Pike as the victim, Most of what Pike is alledged to have writen was from the pen of Leo Taxil
