who is Chiang Kai-shek

He was a military and politicial leader in the last century in China. After Sun Yat-Sun died he became the commander of the GuoMinDang and helped to unify China. During the civil war he tried to get rid of the Chinese Communist but was instead exiled to Formosa (now known as Taiwan). There he started a dictatorial government whilst plotting to get China back (he failed).
