Teresa was not a very good person. She believed that people got closer to Christ through hardship and suffering so she would purposely only do enough to keep people alive to spread the churches message. She was about spreading her faith, not easing the suffering of others.

I told her that I probably got contracted TB while working there, and taking care of homeless sick folks, and she told me - as Christ died for us, we should work for humanity till we die.

Well as I stated above, she didn't help anyone except make more nuns, so tell me what humanitarian aid did she really do and I want to see the finances spent on that, since she did receive a lot of money and only spent a bit of it (around 3% or so?) on Christian humanitarian aid yet most of it went straight to the vatican bank.
Actually everyone that knew her admitted that Mother Teresa never really wanted to help people out of poverty or help them IN poverty. It's not whether you agree or not, she took in money from dictators as well as frauds. She hurt more people than helped, 50 million dollars never spent on the Home of the Dying. Teresa was a two faced person, would help set-up an orphanage, then leave it to fend for herself. She refused to pay cab fare for a little boy to get to the hospital. That boy died because of her. Most of the money she recieved went to the vatican and not the people it was meant to help.

She was put up in nice place so what? I am sure she did not ask for it. People wanted to give her some comfort while she was their guest- nobody should be jealous of that.
She was an extraordinary person and that can not be questioned. I would agree with her to rather feed people, than to fix up a place. I wish she had all the money needed to do everything, but she didn't. So she did her best at picking priorities. I will not question her wisdom and judgement.

A soul such as that of Mother Theresa is rare . She has completed her earthly lives and has become one with her God. She saw the face of Christ in his many distressing disguises. When that awareness of Christ is reached one is called enlightened. I am happy to see this path makes no distinction among what faith one follows. Perennial wisdom is wisdom no matter what the outer trappings may look like.

I;m going to say something that'll cause anger, but I'm saying it anyway. This woman stayed in plush hotels etc while on state visits, yet her hospital in India remained in squalor. Surely she easily raised enough money to at least do up her own hospital, but she never did. Why? I heard it suggested that MT was somehow addicted to & enjoyed the squalor. Looking after the poor is honourable, but being in a position to change their lives and not doing so, not so honourable.

@BlowDeBloodyDoorsOff It's because her view of poverty and sickness was twisted, somehow she believed that suffering is good or beautiful (Catholic doctrine about redemption of the soul through suffering) so getting rid of suffering was not a priority. She always refused to publish any audit how the money was spent, any honest humanitarian organisation would publish that.

She said that while people are calculating statistics on poverty, the poor are suffering and dying. I also read that she once visited Rwanda and was offered a nice place to stay but insisted that she stay in the slums rather than get preferential treatment. She wasn't perfect, as no one is, but I believe she changed many lives. Peace and blessings!

I went to India, i saw alot of photo of MT in peoples houses some of them were muslims. In the west we are so busy making saints from actor/ess who just ant to promote their movies. Madonna opens an orphanage yet wants the public to pay. Angelina Joili visits refugees but not without arm guards. MT asked Saddam face to face if she could open an orphanage in Bag. Real saints are the one who give without taking, not to promote a product.

You can still get unwanted pregnancies even if you are married. Using contraceptives would cut down on the number of kids the poor people would have to feed and thus improve their lives and their whole countries. Leaving aside that the reality is that some people are impoverished NOW and it is wrong to encourage them to have unprotected sex which will lead to families they can't support.

Well as I stated above, she didn't help anyone except make more nuns, so tell me what humanitarian aid did she really do and I want to see the finances spent on that, since she did receive a lot of money and only spent a bit of it (around 3% or so?) on Christian humanitarian aid yet most of it went straight to the vatican bank.

Actually everyone that knew her admitted that Mother Teresa never really wanted to help people out of poverty or help them IN poverty. In fact the only reason she did this was to spread her version of catholicism. Many Indians love her, just like many Muslims love Bin Laden, they can only see good, but many Indians don't care for her and anyone who follows the money trail and sees how she treated people finds out that she was a horrible person.

Why? Her passion was watching people suffer and die. She never HELPED anyone. Look at the place she kept them in. She was given millions of dollars but rather than spend it on real beds or medicine (two things people in the "home for the dying" were NEVER afforded) she build homes to train more nuns. Not ONCE did a doctor treat those people. Not ONCE was an attempt made to make them comfortable or ease the pain. But suffering makes them close to god, right?

It's not whether you agree or not, she took in money from dictators as well as frauds. She hurt more people than helped, 50 million dollars never spent on the Home of the Dying. Communal toilets (where children lie in their own filth), reused needles (which the, rather illiterate, nuns give the wrong medicine to the wrong people often), no anesthesia (so as to be closer to Jesus, no beds, no actual care, contact to any family is severed, and so on.

mother teresa was great...if she is as bad as this sucka NEBZZ is trying to make her look....then indians where she worked would never have had her corpse laid for 2weeks for then to pay their last respect to her. GOD BLESS MOTHER TERESA!!!

oh, and now i'll say something about mother teresa. she is one of the very very few people in this world who have done exactly what jesus christ wants us to do, and she did this consistenly through her entire life. she is most definitely one of my greatest rolemodels, and i'm not even catholic, i'm mormon.

i work with these people, i'm friends with these people, and i can tell you they are some of the kindest and most compassionate people i've ever met in my life. islam is a good religion. it is a VERY small percentage of muslims that are extremist and falsly interpret the koran to fit their evil agendas.
