As i recall Mr Williams also wrote Cavatina (or was i Stanley Meyers???), anyhow, i consider that score top top top of the best scores ever made, and it should definetly be on the list, if he wrote it!
Otherwise, Williams scored alot of average movies, but is one of the most consisent componants in the history!
@MrDetwaa I've seen all but the last one yet. I just didn't like them. And you're right I'm sure they skipped some stuff, and I'm sure I'll be disappointed in the last one as it will skip important info. Lots of parts in the movies didn't make sense for people like me who hasn't read the books. I wish I had interest in reading. I really do. I just can't build an imagination.
I love what you've done here. I love listening to these snippets, there are some here that made me think, "John Williams did that?!?!" But he is a musical genius and has done SO many, so if you please -- can put another two or three up that includes Harry Potter and Superman, and my favorites of his, the Television Themes? The openings to Lost in Space are to die for and made me study music for years.
Every one knows his Superman, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park ect... This copulation provides some of his scores that are tremendous because they made the movie what it is i.e. Schindler's List, Jaws, Family Plot. Any way you cut it, any music of his that you present makes one clear statement: JOHN WILLIAMS IS THE MAN!!
hey benydebney, do you know the names of the soundtrack of the video "lucifer rising part 1 the satanic illuminati conspiracy" (first one and at 4:50)? ive been trying to figure out the names or the movies they were featured in but so far no answers. thought you might be able to help me out. please please please please please please please please please pretty please =D thanks
@Terlin1466 Well, John's BEST and most iconic soundtracks have been composed for Spielberg films... so, that's why Spielberg is more prominent here... just saying.
No Superman, are you mad!!!! I think jurassic park is his best theme, but its hard to chose the man made some may themes that we all know and love today.
composers all have their own unique style and strengths. you cant really say objectively that one is better than the other for all cases. one person could do an amazing score to a certain film that another even legendary scorist just couldnt do
I don't fall into the John Williams or Hans Zimmer camp... my favorite composer is Jerry Goldsmith. However, Williams is a very very very close second, and his thematic writing is absolutely unparalleled. Fantastic composer! So many chills, so many great memories!
@janitorialprez personally my favorite is john barry but i think williams is the best just out of what he has done for the film industry in terms of the themes he has created this past hald century. goldsmith is in my top 3 though along with williams and barry
I Think Hans Zimmer is better. His music really touched my soul! John Williams is a great composer but when i listen to his music i don't fell nothing.

@AlexBeckproductions I dont think that's the right way to look at it. Composers are cast to films, somewhat, just like actors/actresses are. i dont think williams could've written as an effective or appropriate score as zimmer could have for that particular film (black hawk down). williams is amazing in his own way, but he would completely suck at writing dub-step music, for example
i´m a fan of john williams, i was listening your greatest hits compilation but this is your worst work, you must re-edited with more themes missing and diferent order. you miss SUPERMAN! my good!
