I normally love Blackmore's Night, but I have to say this remake is disappointing compared to One More Time's original. It has better instrumentation, but while Candice Night's voice is beautiful, it's missing the passion of Nanne Gronvall and Maria Radsten's original performances. If the instrumentation of this version and the voices of the original could be combined on one track, we might possibly have the best song in the world.
Hmm, this is a pretty good remake, but I definitely prefer the original. This woman just sounds kind of disinterested when she sings. There is no power in her voice, even at 3:18 she keeps singing with this really soft, almost monotone voice, which is a real shame because that was my favorite part of the original version. What I really liked about the original was the intense passion of the singer.
So yeah, this really isn't as good as the original, though that might just be the patriot in me.

I just bought the Autumn Sky album this week and I can't stop playing this song it is Awesome. This version is longer and has more bass than some other versions I note. I have been a huge fan of Ritchie since Rainbow in the 70's :)
The Blackmore's night version is much better than the original from One more time, which sounds so dated with awfully embarrisingly sounding keyboard sections. Blackmore's night use of real instruments will stand the test of time better and I love the sound of the drums. Saying that, hats off to whoever wrote the song. They deserve the credit.
