Thank you for posting this video instruction. Very helpful.
What are the benefits of holding the breath during this exercise. I have not seen many, but the others I have seen don't mention about holding the breath.
Different yoga exercises have different breathing techniques, but since this one is called "full Yogic breath" I assume that one should breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth, or is all the breathing done through the nose? This isn't being specified or fully instructed.
Thank you so much for posting professional yogic breathing here. It is very helpful for every singer, if professional or just for fun. I like your very clear style of presentation and explanation.
What you dont need to do is wear such tight clothing. Wear very light cotton cloths of light color. Good work but wear something like a white indian kurti or loose t-shirt.
. Also as spring has approached my sensitivity to pollen and other allergens has dropped way down to where my sneezing and runny nose is about non existent. So if that was all the benefit pranayama gave me it would be worth the effort.
@Halkalooki Really? How long have you been doing this? Do you go to a class for yoga? I have terrible sneezing from pollen all year round, and its worse in the spring/summer time.
@shushanto Yea I am still at it with pranayama. Can't say it clears allergy 100% but it does help a lot, maybe 60% ? Well worth a try if you are plagued with allergy. I got through another winter with no cough or cold! I go to a hatha yoga class twice a week and home practice once or twice a week as well. I live in Seattle, a high pollen and cough cold center it seems! The catch 22 is you gotta practice pranayama every day. It is a MAJOR discipline to keep up, but worth the effort.
@Trinivalist Like I posted earlier I have a consistent yoga practice. Also I work outside washing windows climbing ladders, walking roofs, which can be a lot like exercise. As far as diet I quit sugar this year and have been mostly vegan for three years or more. I eat fish and sometimes chicken broth. I feel better when I stay away from heavy meats. No alcohol, no coffee. I incorporate meditation or prayer in with my pranayama. I feel for me it is all one thing.
@Halkalooki it is. honestly... you have an amazing lifestyle. I really thought I had some kind of advice for ya... but I think you're fine. Check and see if dr. Sebi has anything to say about allergies.
For one I have noticed much less lung and nasal problems. I went through the whole winter with out a cold or a sniffle. No congested lungs, cough, or colds. Very unusual for me, as I normally go from one cold to another it seems..
I have been doing my pranayama every morning for 50 minutes or an hour. Been practicing for several months regular, but only the past few weeks for an hour. The benefits I seem to have gotten are twofold.
This woman is such a good teacher, not just because she explains thing very well but it is very clear that she is a regular and serious practitioner of pranayama.
You absolutely cannot teach in the way unless you practice.

The position is called SUKKHASANA...and the bones that support that is a group from the pelvic-cage, called Ischio-pubic ramus on both sides.....
