Ok here is a better desription. Coal and iron are the most common ( besides dirt and stone) for these u only require a wood or stone pick. Next u can usually find gold, redstone and blue lapris next a little bit deeper. These u can mine with an iron pick.( you have to cook iron and gold to get ingots the u make things out of.) diamond is the rarest and can be found from 1-20 from adminium ( the rock bottom) also mined with an iron pick obsidian comes from moving water over still lava and can on

for those people who asked how to find stone,coal,iron,diamonds,silve­r,red stone,obsidian , most of those items are found under the ground ( just like in real life). the only thing u should be asking for is red stone, and obsidian. ( if anyone asks how to find wood, then u are just a noob)
