I wonder if Hitchcock was aware of the gargantuan impact that his film Psycho would have on the world and horror films to be made over the next few generations! Perhaps he did, since he stated that the horror wouldn't be appreciated until the people left the theater and went to their homes. Also, sounds like he was abused as a child and wanted to instill the same fear he experienced into others. I liked his metaphor of horror about the little girls on a swing. Had never thought of fear like that
