I bought this at my local retro game store for $4 boxed, and at first it wasn't very appealing. I had only bought it because you could play the original Pitfall, but I soon started playing the real game and eventually beat it.

PC Version is better. Enhanced graphics (not too much), better music, you can go back or change to a different level from the Game window menu, you can use keyboard or gamepad, and it runs on Windows 95 & 98. It doesn't take up a lot of space on the computer either. GOOD LUCK! Im gonna buy it with my christmas money.

Good review but there was a mistake in it. You talk about how the slingshot is so weak and can't be leveled up, but if you hold down the slingshot button it will charge up the slingshot and make a very powerful hit.

I agree with everything said in the review except one thing:

The music of the Genesis version fits way better the style of the game than the snes. Mostly the snes pawns the genesis in terms of music in direct comparison, but in this case this generalistion just does'nt fit. The snes music and espacially the soundfx just sound cheesy and are completely failing to fit the mood of the game.

Just compare some youtube vids if you don't believe me.

Althought it sucks that we haven't seen Swag in a review yet, I understand that he's constantly trying to make the Gaming Pod shows you and Kwing hosts as best as possible and much more.

I didnt even know this was on virtual console, but I was playing it on my genesis just last week when I was playin some old games I havent played in awhile, and I thought this game was really good, it sucks more people didn tknow about it. I love this game but the only problem I have with it is my copy doesn't let me get past the Mine Cart scene. Harry just stands there and doesn't jump on the cart or anything...

On the VC or your cart? The game is only 8 bucks. Even though it is the GEN ver I can tell you the game is still awesome. Even if the music quality isn't good. This game still rocks. Actually truth be told Im playing it on my Wii Right NOW!
