because i am from greece and i still live here so i will answer the question ..opa doesnt mean smth specific we say it when we are having a lot of fun..not when we are listeng a joke .but when someone is dancing a traditional song ..and etc
@FireFirstMary I've never been to Greece, but here in the Philippines we have some Greek restaurants...whenever they flambé something they shout "OPA!". I can't really say for sure, but perhaps it's like what they say when celebrating, or just their form of "cheers". :D
