I think what I meant to ask was how do you keep the camera from panning up or down when you turn your head to the side? When you turn to the extreme left or right the control is pulled forward slightly and the camera pans down. Do you compensate for this by increasing the deadzone?

Yes!this movement in the vertical direction by turn of the head exists, but is relatively small, so to my mind this can be ignored!

so i understand the horizontal axis.. but how do you control the vertical? lean your head back or tilt forward? it seems that this movement would also cause the camera to move up and down as the control would be pulled forward or backward. great job however :D
