Iran best fighter aircraft the F-14A Tomcat doesn't stand a chance against Israeli F-15C/D/I, F-16C/D/I, US F-22, F-15E, F-15C, F-18E/F, and F-35. Too bad Iran air force going be whipped out. Iran air to air missiles like AIM-9A, Fatter, Sedjil, AIM-7, and AIM-54 are useless to hit US, NATO, and Israeli fighter aircraft. US, NATO, and Israeli fighter aircraft have better avionics, radar, technology, and weapons than Iranian fighters aircraft.

Too bad Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force only operate 25 F-14A Tomcat due to end of embargo with US full of spares parts. These F-14A Tomcat can't protect the Iranian air space. If the revolutionary haven't exist Iranian air force would have F-14D Super Tomcat and F-16C/D Fighting Falcon. Too bad the revolutionary already happen in 1979.

Yeah I would not want to be shot at by a HAWK. equipped Iranian Tomcat. All HAWK missles have good flight performance, better dynamic range than the AIM-54 at least. Not sure what generation the HAWK's avionics are, but they can be big trouble either way.

theres nothing special about the HAWK, this video is from the 80s, US embargo on iran forced iranians to improvise. there Phoenix missiles needed special batteries to stay functional but US denied the sale, so they experimented with these HAWKS. They are not using the HAWK because its so good, but because there was nothing else. remember 8 years war with iraq and parts very hard to come by. and they didnt have much success with the HAWK on a f14, remember its a land based missile and its old.

You're wrong. If they have nothing else, they can just use reversed engineered AIM-9 Sidewinder(Fatter) rather then sky hawk. Anu currently do not have any reliable data showing their plan is success or not. And this video is came from 1995, after Iran painted their F-14 in blue rather tnan brown.

You live in Australia. I bet ur dad was never even near an F-14. Btw the Hawk improvisation is not a bad idea. The AIM-54 is very expensive and hard to get anyways. With this the F-14 can still have long range intercept capacity, infact longer range than US missiles.(Since they retired AIM-54 with F-14). The only downside is that 'only' 4 targets can be engaged instead of 6.

The improved iHAWK in Iranian inventory cannot be so easily counter-measurd with ECM. Moreover, it has active radar and is a fire-and-forget missile with an effective range of 40 - 50 km, with high maneuverability and with very high precision. I would say that it is better than the AIM_7 Sparrow AAM, but less capable than the still formidable "Phoenix" AAM

Wrong. The MIM-23 "Hawk" was designed in the 60es and many modifications and updates have improved it significantly. It is still in use by many western allies, als like the British "Rapier" SAM, that Great Britain and Iran still have in use as improved versions

For example, you also cannot say that the F-15 and F-16 are "trash from the 70es" just because they were designed and developped at that time...

Project started during the 1980s due to the Aim-54 supplies running out. Iran is able to produce Aim-54 Phoenix missiles itself now and so the project was abandoned.
