why not sing? In my opinion his singing is pretty well...
Especially if you take notice that his voice has not been AUTOTUNED unlike most of today singers... If you have some proof of what I'm tellin' is a lie, please, feel free to reply...
I think you played the song beautifully, and your singing fits perfect to the song :D I liked it :) I'm learning this song myself at the moment. It's such a pretty song, and it makes me even more happy to say that it is soon christmas again!!! :D
Greatly played and sung. Isn't it wierd how when I play piano, I'm always better at Christmas songs? Creepy! Anywho, this songs actually called The Christmas Song.
i love christmas, it's like my favorite time of the year. it's so nice just to have snow coming down and melt into drops of water. i can't wait til xmas!
missviax3 is right. its never ever too late to learn something. imagine when you're like 35 instead of 15 and you're still regreting not learning how to play! if you have the money, time, and of course dedication, then you have wat it takes to learn ANY instrument!
not too late Hank Jones did not start till he was like 16 and Mccoy Tyner did not start till he was 17 or 15 so your fine. I started when i was 17 and im good now.(decent)Jazz
i could barely see where your fingers are pressing :( i understand it will take a lot of time to transcribe this into a piano sheet, so could you post a tutorial video to make it easier for us to see where your right and left fingers are pressing? pleeeease? i want to be able to play this to my dad by christmas....
I'm putting out some christmas lessons on my blog, but this is just the teaser performance. Its not a tutorial or lesson, those take me a lot more time to plan out, but I'll have them up soon.
Absolutally love your voicings here, particularly towards the start of the song. Must get that book you mention! Is it available in the UK do you know?
Yup!!! I will definatly use that for now on. On the other hand, when playing a minor song, I like to end it in the root of the song but with a major voicing instead. Sounds nice too.
excellent singing!

Awesome; couldn't make out some of the chords though (visually). There has to be another way to end it ... lydian? Too cliche.

tell me in the notes as in c d e you know plzzzzzzzzzzz
rockglitterme 3 years ago
sorry, in order for me to write out every single note played in this song, it would take a long time.
Try this method of learning, Pause video, write down the notes on the keyboard in that chord, then go play them.
The more time you put into taking notes on the video, the better you'll learn it.
Thanks :)

zetnsh 3 years ago
Yeah I think you can get it on amazon.
These are the specific chapters that will help you with the voicings I'm using here:
4 note voicings
adding notes to four note voicings
drop 2 voicings
chrismarx85 3 years ago
MAN!!! This was sexy!!! Ima steal some of your chords lol!!!
Dadee3 3 years ago
thanks, i think most of these voicings are in the "Learn Jazz Piano Book" by mark levine!
chrismarx85 3 years ago
Ohhh thanks! That last chord that you played in the end of the vid was sweet.
Dadee3 3 years ago
Oooh yeah thats a good one :)
ON the end of any song, play a major 7 #11...
I just played the root there and an IImajor triad upperstructure.
In other words I was thinking
LH: Eb (root)
RH: Fmajor (Triad) which is inverted in my example. It works great if you arpeggiate the Fmajor triad.
Learn jazz piano has a whole chapter on upper structures!
chrismarx85 3 years ago
Yup!!! I will definatly use that for now on. On the other hand, when playing a minor song, I like to end it in the root of the song but with a major voicing instead. Sounds nice too.
