These look amazing but what happens when your smartphone runs out of battery? Would hate to get stranded in the middle of nowhere just because i forgot to charge my phone. Also, where would owners be able to charge it. Pretty hard for your average londoner to carry it up several flights of stairs to his top floor apartment just so he can go to work the next morning. A removable battery would be a better idea. That said looks a great innovation for the future. Soon we will all drive these...

"WOW", seriously, "WOW". I am stunned. I know it is only a concept right now, but it looks absolutely beautiful. If in the end it does go market, Vespa will be facing a serious competition, but that's in the case of there will be a gas model.

i imagine they are going to be even more expensive then a real mini plus iphone put toether...... did you see that thing? Be ware though, electric scooters do not go very fast and technically cannot be driven on the road with other vehicles, it must be ridden as a bicycle using bike lanes, sidewalks and what not because most don't go fast enough.....but they are lovely!!!!!!! I want one too.....

@AnitaCMenotti Electric Scooters can go faster than a 50cc petrol scooter and in the UK are classed as being fully roadworthy in accordance with the DVLA, so no problem their. Also pretty sure i read about them being about £4000 to £5000 if they were to make it to production, so about £1000 more than a normal scooter would be.

Beautiful scooters. But electric? Hope there are thousands of "charging stations" in whatever direction you drive. Oh, these Mini scooters are going to be used just to zip up to the corner store for a loaf of bread or over to Starbucks for a latte? Okay. But with the premium price these scooters will cost plus the monthly cost of all those specialty coffees, you should make back the cost of your scooter in about 23 years...maybe.

well its not really zero emission if you have to charge it with electricity produced by coal or nuclear plants. the future are hydrogen fuel cells and mini nuclear power units that can fit into a bike like this for example

You make good points, just making the scooter takes energy also!

But think outside the box for a moment.

What if you put solar panels on your roof and charge it from your own power?

With a petrol bike or car you power it one way and one way only. At least with electric you can use alternatives.

Also, an electric drivetrain is far more efficient than internal combustion power.

Usually im prepared to accept anything mini throws at us, i wasnt too keen on the countryman at first but i saw how big it actually isnt i fell in love with the design! But scooters arent cool and anyone who rides one is an idiot! Mini, if you want to make a city versatile vehicle, bring back a car the size of the original! You could make a foldable version as an accessory for the countryman maybe, but i dont see this ever catching on as a mainstream bike! Just let your parents BMW bring back t

A Scooter is a Scooter - there's only so much you can do to change the design. I like it and I like the orginal Scooters and intend to restore a Lambretta next year (after completing my 1962 BMW Isetta). Only thing is they should show some performance data. No good if it only has a very limited range.

Excellent design Mini! I hope that you can realize this concept through to production. We can only hope now that those countries still producing electricity with coal convert to cleaner and more sustainable fuel sources. It would be a shame to charge the E Scooter with coal-fired electricity...
