  • This video perfectly embodies Tallahassee! The full extent of its creativity, culture, and art.

    Can't wait to leave.

  • lols at the mayor

  • crock of shit

  • can someone tell me what the song is that they are dancing to? i'm kind of digging it :)

  • @corinnajune It's called Ramalama (Bang Bang) by Roisin Murphy.

  • The area is already a center for creativity, culture arts and entertainment. anyone who hangs out there already knows this. this renovation has severely f---d things up by bringing traffic to a screeching halt just to make the side walks super huge...wtf? they are planning on destroying the culture and creativity that already exists in the All-Saints district just to make it a big time money center for the well

  • I was apart of this production as one of the main dancer "1:37" and i enjoy myself 100 percent and glad tallahassee is finally stepping out of their comfort zone

  • How Wonderful!!! I'm so proud of Tallahassee and Mayor Marks and his wife, Jane for stepping out and participating. I only wish I had known so I could have watched or participated. Those of you who are negative or didn't like it - tough, get a life, smile a little and appreciate the wonder of every day.

  • Our tax dollars at work, more silly feel good BS. That is probably the most work the City crews have done in years...sad, very sad. Just to set the record straight, everyone in Tallahassee is not a mindless twit, such as those portrayed in this video.

  • what a great idea, and great video. Nice to add a little spice to the work week. Keep em coming.

  • Wats the name of the song?

  • @supersonicbro The name of the song is Ramalama (Bang Bang ) by Roisin Murphy

  • I'm proud of Talahassee for investing in its future. Way to go. This project will help reclaim a part of the city that has been disregarded for some time. This formerly disregarded section of the city will be given a new chance at becoming something special and of benefit for the whole community.

  • I can't beleive how negative people are about some people dancing over a project that is finally showing results. I drive every single day to work through Gaines street and it is a joy now because the road has finally been fixed. Take what you have and make the best of it. at least something is being done and in a positive manner. I like the video.

  • @niconpl1 You probably wont be taking it anymore when it turns into a two lane nightmare...

  • I hate white people.

  • Mission:

Take a four lane busy road and make it a two lane traffic jam.

    Secondary mission:

Create more traffic in other areas to even out the bullshit everywhere.

  • They claim the city is broke due to the economy, yet they can spend millions on this project....not to mention countless other projects. Vote them all out of office! The city manager and assistant city manager need to be replaced also.

  • Absolutely ridiculous. Another example of government wasting money and having their priorities screwed up. The problem is not with the video itself, they spent very little producing it. The problem is the millions that they are spending turning a busy 4 lane road into a two lane road.

  • I say it's great. Tallahassee is finally looking to move forward and redevelop parts of the city that need it. I think that Tallahassee is slowly but surely getting on the track to building itself up.

  • I don't care how cheesy this video is. I support what they're doing on Gaines Street, and am glad that my tax dollars are going to a project to build a livable community in Tallahassee. We sorely need one! Where can I contribute even more?

  • Maybe if these morons were working at a job, instead of dancing the street, they could privately support the building of this center. However, it's much easier to dance and let the mayor squander MY tax dollars on this. This is NOT the role of government. John Marks, how about you get your lazy butt back in your office and get something done?!

  • @SpankyMcNuttleburg Assumptions are not facts. This has nothing to do with building a center of any kind. None of YOUR tax dollars were squandered on this. This was done on a Saturday with a bunch of working people who gave their time on their day off to bring some fun to the world. Lighten up spanky. keep your name calling to yourself and check your facts. By the way Mayor Marks has my vote for being willing to spend his free time on this with the people of his community.

  • Way to go Mayor Marks and Mrs. Jane and all those volunteers:

You all rock! It is good to spread feelings of cooperation and togetherness whether you think that another section of town is more deserving or not. I am proud of my city coming together. Folks just need to stop hatin'. I agree, we do need to ask ourselves what are we doing personally to progress this city. I am excited about the arts being celebrated in my city. KUDOS!

  • I talked to a friend in Tallahassee who told me that is really the Mayor in there dancing. He also said the directors and dance teachers all donated their time. Everyone did-and on their day off. This city rocks and its people are awesome! You who criticize this need to get down off those high horses and quit looking for something bad in everything you see. No doubt Tallahassee has its problems. But, with this kind of heart and soul we should all be so lucky to live there.

  • This is awesome. Glad to live in Tallahassee. Go Gaines Street!

  • How cool is this? What a great effort. The idea of people from all walks of life spontaneously converging upon a negative focal point with infectious energy may not be new, but it certainly is needed. We need to see images like this wonderful display of synergy and cooperation again and again... until we naturally respond to one another with tolerance, patience, respect and love. Kudos to all involved.

  • awesome work . good promoting of projects to the peeps of this town where most communities just do boring council meetings.

  • Holy cow people, these folks look like they're having fun and are doing something positive for the city and to get folks thinking about the pending arts district. When is the last time you simply tried to make someone smile? Has it really been that long? I feel for you.

  • Further proof that local goverments, or any government for that matter, are run by a bunch of morons. This has got to be one of the most pathetic attempts ever at trying to do a viral video, the idea is old and worn out. Please for the sake of the project and the city do not ever do something this corny and ridiculous again!

  • @HankBeefard ROFL! I was just going to type WTF...but then I saw your response. All I can say now is: DITTO.

Oh, also the words: Epic Fail.

In a year of much needed budget cuts, this was money well spent...way to go City of Tallahasee!

  • I'm actually strangely proud of Tally for producing this, though I generally don't like flashmobs.

  • @LockeShocke It's not a flashmob. It's a staged production probably paid for with your tax dollars.

  • FAIL. So sad that my hometown would embarrass themselves like this.

  • @turkeysquat actually we did not embarrass ourselves like this and if you are talking about Tallahassee embarrassing themselves well then honey u talking about the wrong people you r talking about my child and her beautiful dance teacher.AND STOP SAYING NEGATIVE THINGS THEN YOU NEED TO GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT.

  • im glad this video is here my child is in it.

  • Everyone of those participants is impacted by a bad economy and yet they put aside their real concerns to join together to do something positive as a community. Before you measure out your next uninformed assault on City Hall's alleged waste of money, why don't you look in the mirror and ask, "What am I doing or saying to inspire my neighbors show the best of themselves?"

  • Furthermore, the dancers for this production were made up of ordinary Tallahasseeans from all sectors of the population and included Seniors, students, city workers, and children. Most of them were challenge to participate outside of the comfort zone by either dancing steps beyond their skill level or collaborating with people outside their social circle. It was difficult but they did it anyway.

  • LOL LOL LOL LOL!!!!!!!!

  • Please tell me one penny of tax money wasn't spent on this foolishness. If it was, someone needs to lose their job today.

  • Cant wait to see the finished Gaines St project - looking forward to having some new places to go in Tallahassee. What a cool idea, everyone is so happy, just makes you smile!!!

  • This is such a cute little video. It's great to see everyone having fun and that guy @ the end coming out of the Marriott was hilarious!

  • Yeeahhhh Tally!

  • *facepalm*

  • People coming together to celebrate life, yeah, must be gay. LOL. I think it's a fun video.

  • This is embarrassing for our city, God-awful

  • @stewart20smoke whatever tallahassee has to step up since its the capital city why are you saying negative things.

  • fabulous...love it....

  • Loving this - just regular people coming together to celebrate and embrace an exciting future for the arts in Tallahassee. Tallahassee rocks!

  • Kudos to David Wiley -- a great director -- and the wonderful people of Tallahassee who volunteered their time to make this a success!
