  • Too busy thinkin bout my baby.... Morris Chestnut.

  • When my daughter was born, and she'd wake up at night, I'd take her downstairs, rocker her in my arms, and sing this until she fell asleep.. It is a song that makes me sad and happy at the same time.. This is my baby!!!!!

  • NICE!

  • Beautiful song. Makes you smile.......

Jamerson's bass part. Two notes. Less is more on this one baby. The cat was the best !

  • the best

  • Another #1 hit for Marvin Gaye on the Rhythm & Blues charts. It was the 195th #1 R&B song of the Rock Era. It also hit #4 on the Top 40 charts.

  • What a good song. :) Thank you so much!

  • classic

  • If you listen closely, you can hear the Andantes singing in the background.

  • In the 60's and 70's there were amazing singers, like Levy Stubbs, Marvin Gaye, and David Ruffin. They had real talent today they have been replaced by tattoos, bling, and talentless singers, like Usher.

  • On this day 27 years ago, we lost a legend. R.I.P. Marvin Gaye.

  • good old school song, what ever happen to those old good times!!

  • one of the greats

  • this song just makes you happy!!!!!!

  • One day, music wil return...hopefully...

  • Great start to my morning! :)

  • his best song if you ask me.

  • he copied this off steps

  • My favorite Marvin Gaye Song.

  • This song is unreal. The way the notes of the chord happen in the flow of Marvin's vocal lines are just fabulous beyond all belief. This thing has the feel of some kind of spell the gods have cast upon us mortal humans, reaching down into our souls and pulling out the fabulousness in each of us and showing it to us.

  • definitely a Summer song.....

times to NOT think about your baby

    1. the men's locker room

    2 driving on the freeway

  • too busy thinking about my baby .WOW!

  • A very rare and special talent.

  • Great video!

Thank's to reddawg7246 for this awesome share... and to manuelworker for the upload.

  • Marvin's the Man!

  • Hi manuelworker, I am loving this! Can you find "Heaven must have sent you " by Marvin Gaye for me? Keep up the good work, thanks!!!!

  • This song was co-written by Barrett Strong, cousin of Nolan Strong of the Diablos, the most underrated doo-wop band of all time. Nolan's gone now--buried in Westlawn cemetery just outside of Detroit but Barrett is still around and still living in Detroit. Barrett wrote some of the most enduring songs ever most of them, like this one, with Norman Whitfield who is also no longer with us.

  • Go Marvin! with the Funk Brothers...

  • THE BEST.......This piece takes me right back to

those marvelous 1960's and my high school days in El Pueblo de Los Angeles, California.

Those were the days ! Sierra Cuban, Miami, La

    Florida......

  • Marvin is the truth!!!!! I love and miss him terribly!

  • Sehoy1, everything you said and more.....

  • marvin's too good

  • @donsw141 Marvin its a tragedy that you died at the hands of your own Father. You did nothing wrong. I remember going to one of your last concerts in Columbia, SC, as a teenager, singing sexual healing, which I think was your last album. You gave a great Concert!I'll never forget you! I am in my late 40's now. RIP!

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhhh yeah!!!!!!!!

  • Man! Doesn't he just make you smile and shake your head from side to side, like ..he's just too good for you to stand it! Those high notes, like at 1:09, are heavenly.

  • Great voice....pity his father had too kill him in a heated argument over the last rock of crack.....its just too hard to say goodbye to the ice cream man. RIP Marvin.

  • Contrary 2 legend, that's NOT The Supremes singing background...It's actually The Andantes: Jackie Hicks, Marlene Barrow and Louvain Demps.

    AWEsome song!!!

  • This song made me a Marvin Gaye fan.

  • Marvin Gayes voice and Motown... James Jamerson?

  • this is my boy.. i luv me some Marvin Gaye.. There will never be another like him..... and he is truly missed.... this is my jam.. i luv me some old school ..

  • i danced to this when i was 14 yrs old, i,am still dancing now.WHAT A TUNE, thanks great posting, love it.

  • this song makes you feel good about life

  • excellent song

  • My favorite Marvin Gaye song.......Takes me right back to junior high school in California in those

wonderful 1960's.........NEVER again will we see a music industry as we had back then......Not in a

    nation which is now BROKE.......

  • now that we're dirt broke we'll have more time for the music. entertainment does great during depression! of course, the music "industry" is a den of vipers and mediocrity!

  • kaviboy78, what kind of thinking is that? Are you just like his father, an irrational violent man who responds to situations with violence? Were you there? Do you know how it all went down? That's how Marvin suffered the fate he did because someone lost their cool. Wishing harm on others never improved anything. Like Marvin sang, "Only love can conquer hate!"

    Think about it.

  • i hope his dad dies a horrible death bc Marvin Gaye was a truly talented artist

  • great vid......Marvin was so good!!

  • We have now moved passed the 60's, and most of the 70's. He moves...

  • No artist went through time with such versatile range. Even as short as that time was. I love him.

  • Second row,Steel Pier,Atlantic City who would have known then how far this man in the orange leisure suit would take me? God love you Marvin Gaye you are "some kinda wonderful"

  • He was just the best!

  • rip marvin you the greatest rip levi stubbs

  • i dont got time to think about money!

  • At 1:58 and 2:05 he soars up into those hovering, suspended high notes. He does this a few times earlier in the song, too. The soul goin on is total and absolute FLAIR. FLAY-YAH!!

  • One of my all-time favs by Marvin. This like so many songs that Norman Whitfield cut on the Temptations and Marvin are gems. Thanks.

  • yes motown classic it is indeed bob. sadly missed.marvin.r.i.p

  • motown classic

  • And another great motown love track

  • Lovely track, thanku Bob

  • I agree, this was The Tempts song first,I don't know why they didn't release this for The Tempts, well this was around the time that Whitfield decided to record 95% of singles with Ruffin on lead, and probably because Motown slept on Eddie Kendricks,I always felt that Eddie was underrated and underused as a Temptation, who knows but this might have been of the little things that pushed Eddie to leave,I know it would make my decision about leaving a whole lot easier

  • "this might have been one of the little things that made him leave",that's what I meant to say

  • Brother marvin.father shot him 2 r 3times/what type of man will kiil his own son..that bastard..GOD is not pleased with him...if it was up to me..ihope he is burning in HELL

  • those feelings are what made his father do that. no body should ever be as self righteous by damning another man to hell.

  • SO his feelings made him kill his own son? thats a sad excuss.r reason.btw im not damning him to hell.thats not my job..plus he allready damned his own soul

  • this song takes me back to when I was on the mourns bench in a small country church in Louisiana, and of course we couldn't dance nor listen to music, everyone was up dancing & having a good time, I had to sit & watch. thanks marvin for all the wonderful music you have left us with. Lois

  • this is a feel good song for sure!! My fav. song of his

  • great 5/5

  • my favorite marvin gaye song!

  • This song reminds me of my first love, Eddie. This was our song. He still has a special place in my heart and always will.

  • People use the word genius too much these days. But in the case of this man, that word ain't good enough. Absolute perfection in every way, best voice ever heard.

  • he made so many songs... catalogue is ridic

  • What a truly great artist! Amazing how many hits he had.

  • thanks to all (enjoy the music)

    your friend

    manuel(*_*)

  • Fantastic.

  • This is truly one of the greatest recordings of all time, ever. It's timeless. It transcends. There's some unspeakable pure magic to it. Some of Marvin Gaye's vocal lines in this song is beyond belief - totally fabulous beyond all measure.

  • Thanks for this one,the greatest soul ever.

  • Thanks Manuelworker. This is a beautiful song!

  • Wonderful song, thanks for uploading it.

  • what is the city in the picture, with the mountains sticking out of the water near the buildings?

  • rio de janeiro

  • There will never be another like Marvin.

  • Now this is what I call music and not the gangsta rap our kids are listening to.

  • I luv this song, one of my favorites

  • This is by far my favorite Marvin Gaye song. I love the bass James threw down on it. And he don't got the time.

  • wheatsolo. I have always wondered as a child who the bass player was. I was in love with this song at about the age of 6. He tore this song up. Now I know his name. He is/was a genious. Thanks Marvin, Thanks James.

  • My day just got a whole helluva lot better. Thanks for posting this great, great song.

  • Marvin was one of a kind. The world lost a great talent but we are still blessed with great recorded music like this. It is always hip, in style and anyone can get their groove on. Right on Marvin, right on........

  • TUNE!!!

  • i love this song, it bring back good memorys

  • i remember buying this album in omaha almost forty years ago, marvin gaye a maestro at work

  • Marvin was the master! Another great 60s tune along with I'll be doggone and many others.

  • You are so right! He is one of a kind, like Elvis was. KING OF SOUL!!!

  • Elvis was no danm king of soul. get out of here with that shit.

  • Can you not read? I said Marvin was one of a kind, like Elvis was one of a kind. Elvis was KIng of Rock, Marvin was King of Soul. You need to go to anger management class. Get a grip! Calm down. Chill out.

  • lol...i think lots need to go to anger management these days!

  • MARVING GAYE...THE BEST OF THE BEST...THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER MARVIN. Although his children (most) inherited their musical talent from him...:)

  • Great song, nice vid Manny!!! Marvin Gaye RIP

  • This guy is nearly as cool as me!

  • Great song, but it does my head in watching the same 4 photos repeat..and repeat..and repeat!

  • Love it! Thanks so much!

  • He is the most passionate singer, and has one of the best voices ever

Too too bad that he passed on early

  • Oh....can He ever be replaced???I do not think so, no, no ,no
