  • Use a system utility software RegInOut, hangs and lags will no longer occur in windows 7.

  • I've had my windows 7 on my laptop for almost a year and it doesn't do that. Is this something I should be expecting to happen ?

  • Wow, my cheapy low-spec netbook can handle windows 7 ultimate with all grpahics very well with no lag...

  • do you have the same problem with the official release, not the rtm??

  • @djdecca

    RTM = official release

  • @cruzargel oh i'm sorry

  • same problem here

  • Same background :)

  • To all of you who think this is just a fading effect, it ISN'T... The fading effect is supposed to fade smoothly. This does the opposite of smooth..

  • damn suck. Even when browsing webs it suddenly jams =_=

  • yeah i experience this too... according to windows 7 forums, ms are supposedly workin on the fix.

  • yea that lag is fkin annoying i switchrd back to vista becouse of that.

i hope that will be fixed in one year or so.

i even tryed the windows 7 laptops on a pc store and still the same thing.

  • @hspencer100 i too have this lag (fiently but noticable) there is a little fix tho, disabling the animated windows (but then thers no more fancy windows moving about :P) yea i know how annoying it can be....

  • @hspencer100 It seems to be more prominent in the 64-Bit version. MS cocked-up the RC builds and pre-RC builds (i.e. 7047, 7048, 7057 and 7100 etc). The final RTM/Retail is of course from the RTM string of releases such as 7260 and 7264. MS fixed bits out of the 32-Bit version, but there are little "snags" here-and-there with the x64 release.

  • download new videocard drivers (problem solved)

  • it doesn't solve it. I'm already using the latest driver from NVIDIA.

  • Is this lag still present on RTM????

  • that video is taken from a Windows 7 RTM already (build 7600)

  • I have this issue too. Almost everybody does. Still no fix :(

  • Because its a feature and its not broken. Its not lag omg its a fading effect

  • Im aware of the fading effect but there is a slight jump on the animation thats appeared in windows 7. OMG!

  • maybe it is a feature? lol

  • i guess well i have it also a liddle bit at windows 7 and this my system

    i7 920

    6gb ddr3 1.3 ghz

1 TB hdd 32 mb cache

    evga x58 sli le

4890 videocard and a gts 250 for the other screen

    750 watt powersupply

i guess its just , well its still a release canditate so there are still some bugs in it its normal, just wait till it comes out :)

  • bro I am running on build 7600 RTM already from MSDN.

  • where you get that then ? :p

    greetings

  • If you just read carefully at my reply above. I said I got it from MSDN.

  • yes the fading effect, that is the lag. In Vista I don't have that.

  • LoL are you serious? Where is the Lag??? Its just a fading effect!!

  • As I mentioned I don't have it in Vista.

  • OMG, so you think windows vista and windows 7 are the same thing?

  • So are you saying that this lag is really meant to be there?

  • I'm also having this lag, do you have a ATI card ad witch in that case ? :)

    And witch software ?

  • It happens both on my desktop which has NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 and on my laptop which has an ATI video card.
