I heard this song originally done by Gold City on a Southern Gospel Christmas tape. Never heard the version by Sandy Patti but have heard several others try to sing it. I must say, this is definitely one of the best I have heard. Great job!
WOW!! You need to try out for American Idol. I was trying to find that song sung by Sandi Patti, and was dissappointed that I couldn't find it, until I saw your video. Great job. Keep it up.
@Mike: Wow, that's still cool---congrats for making it to the executive producers! I totally lack "stage presence" too, as you probably noticed from my videos :).
Well, now you know what you have to work on. Do that and try again, some time. I wish you luck!
I love this song i am having a bad morning and just hearing your voice some how sooths me. it is a gift and I love this song. you are healping pick me up.
Oh yeah, something I forget to tell you in the first comment, is that I kind of jumped out of my skin the first time I listened to this, because I dragged my girlfriend over to hear the song, due to it being the first time I had heard it in ten years, and then to hear you say at the end "Merry Christmas you two," um, yeah, slightly spooky much. Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year too (although I'll probably listen to this 500 or so more times before my turn comes up)
Hey Mike. Just wanted you to know that there's another who thinks you did great on this number. I'm a college student who'll be performing this song in duet form for a small family crowd, and I've listened to you about 50 times since just yesterday. I can't do you justice in carrying notes like you, but you've provided a great format for me to try to map out my own attempt at performing this.
Thanks so much for providing inspiration to a fellow music lover.
thank you Mike for at least trying to do O'Holy Night. Sorry about you being sick. happy ThanksGiving and have a very Marry Christmass and great new Year.
This was so Pretty. IT IS good to hear you sing a whole song with out doing the multi Track. Your Voice is beutiful. Could
Very nice! I was really touched and moved by this video. At first I was wondering why you kept "looking" away from the mic, and then I realized you were keeping the breath sounds out of the vocals. I've done that myself and its a great idea. Again, nice song, and thanks for sharing your talent!
ohhh, beautiful mic. Had some downer parts which we'll blame on the flu. but man, the ups are awesome. 'round 1:42 on "surround" had me repeating to get it in my ear.
Awesome Mike. And I don't think the instrumental track sounded corny at all. In fact, the whole song moved me to tears. Proud to know you and to have worked with you. God Bless you, Buddy!
Thanks for all of the work you put into your YouTube recordings, Mike. I enjoy listening to your music, whether you're singing alone or collaborating with others.
i have a solo in this song for a performance soo exited!

Sandi recorded this song first in 1983 on her first Christmas cd. Gold City recorded it after her .

I did in June 09. Made it to the executive producers. They liked my voice, just not my stage presence ( or lack thereof ). Haha.

A heart-warming melody sung beautifully.
Although not arranged in multi-track (pitty), great job done: 5 stars!
