The 1988 Australian Open mens final is one of the most forgotten classic matches, a match that lasted 4 1/2 hours, which included 2 rain delays which I always wondered why they never closed the roof if rain was in the forcast for this match. They closed the roof for the women's final in mid-match 2 days earlier between Steffi Graf & Chris Everet.
