  • can i do this without the fag move before to fly?

  • @webkiller89 I have no idea. Can you do it at all?

  • @ ibakethecake uh that really is a btwist it might not be as familiar to you cause maybe he didnt add that much foot steps as other people would normally do. :\

  • calf muscle at 0:05 geez

  • How do you make you're videos sssooo slow motion???

  • soen shit

  • not to be a hater, but this doesnt really look like a btwist, just a sideways 360, its still cool, but not a btwist...

  • THOSE ARE NOT BTWISTS THEY ARE SHURIKEN TWIST

  • Just a tip, he forces too much his knees, he shoul land without de leg strechted. But, nice video...

  • looks like a btwist feilong to me

  • All i can think of is darth maul when i see this video!!! (nice work btw)

  • Awesome. Your b twist also resembles the aerial twist in sport wushu forms. I'm still working on mine. Keep up the great work.

  • very clean

  • clean b twist

  • Song name?? it sounds like something Timbaland made

  • @FlStudioUser I used YouTube's AudioSwap, which says it's called "Nat's Song" by MG!

  • watch?v=1bnAaen3Xlo my slow mo 240 fps b-twist shuriken

  • this is matrix

  • Nice hyperswipe.

  • youve got more torque then a fucking cobra... dam man...

  • where did you bought this camera? and how much was that? please answer!

  • @XTwittyX I think this was shot with a friend's Casio EX-FH1, which is quite expensive.

You can get it's little brother, the Casio EX-FH100 (which can also do high speed video) from Amazon for about $230 though.

  • where did you bought this camera?

  • More like shuriken twist :D

  • he problably stole the high speed camera

  • Muy bueno

  • i cant . fuck

  • i actually tried to do this and guess what happen?

    *i failed*

  • shurikentwist

  • its an ugly bwtist

  • Tutorial vids, should really make vids more like this one, because;

    1) nice music lol

    2) we need # frames per second to clearly see how its initiated and how to do it better.

Thank you for this VID! this vid is a true definition of a tutorial!!

  • is this really a B twist?? a raiz a sideswipe and a 540 are very simliar but slight differences... now here it looks like you are about to do a B KICK but then you swing you leg around and it finishes in a side swipe. i believe a B TWIST is when you keep your legs in and not keep it straight the whole time my friend

sideswipe = is what you did

540 kick = a sideswipe but an intentional kick, landing on your kick foot

raiz = take off in a 540 kick but land on the foot that left the ground first

  • @Rikki214 I've been told that this is actually a Shuriken twist, but I'm not a tricker and don't really know all the subtle variations and differences between similar skills.

  • @DrAlexisOlson That is correct. This is a btwist with a straight leg which = shuriken twist

  • @DrAlexisOlson cool. didnt know what a shuriken twist was.

  • @DrAlexisOlson

The term Shuriken in tricking just refers to the positioning of the landing leg. In a normal B-twist/Corkscrew, both legs stay horizontal during the twist. With a Shuriken B-twist or Cork, the landing leg becomes perpendicular(it's vertical while the rest of you is horizontal) to the other leg during the twist. Your B-twist is a good example of a Shuriken landing.

  • @DrAlexisOlson a shuriken twist is a butterfly twist with an outside crescent kick at the peak.

  • @Rikki214

Yes. This is a B-twist. Somewhat unconventional setup for tricking, but it's a B-twist all the way.

A Sideswipe is basically an inverted 540 kick. You can also think it as a hyper'd raiz.

  • @MochaMash naa i dont agree exactly... its a b twist take off, but a sideswipe landing. he should have tucked his legs then its a B twist 100% clear as day.

  • @Rikki214 all a b-twist is, is a 360 roll-over initiated from a b-kick take-off, which is what he does in the vid; the legs can be as far apart or as close together as one likes. It is still a b-twist.

in a sideswipe, or a 540, notice that, as the move ends, there is a distinct "cross-over" movement of the legs. B-twists don't have this movement... instead that there is a kind of "reverse" of this that happens in the beginning of the move.

  • @Rikki214

Naw dude thats a b-twist. actually more of a b-twist round considering how far ur last leg came over.

a sideswipe is a 540 taken from a raiz setup (a flash kick from the cheat setup).

a raiz is an aerial gumbi.

  • @Rikki214 Man, no offence but that was definitely not a sideswipe! It is a shuriken twist actually. But 540 kick is a tornado kick landed on the kicking leg, sideswipe is a laid back 540 kick and a raiz is a no-handed gumby, or a laid back really inverted tornado kick...

  • @Rikki214 It's a B-twist, for the side swipe the other leg is landing first.

    Even if it's a gymnastic style, it's a B-twist.

  • i like your t-shirt

  • AMAZING !!!

i'm trying this a few weeks now

but i'm always drawing up my legs

    and then i fail

    this is soo depressing

  • it looks mutch to hard for me XD

  • Is this the type of set-up they use for it in gymnastics? I've heard that it's included as a move in gymnastics, C ranked from what I was told, but people don't really do them. Do you know if this is true?

  • @CaptainRed It's not super common in gymnastics and different people use different set ups. I do it from a stand since that's what I'm most comfortable with unlike how Tong Fei originally did it. I compete it in my routine instead of a press or circles, but it's only worth a B, not a C.

  • @DrAlexisOlson Gotcha...so do you know what a double Tong Fei would be worth?

  • @CaptainRed Yep, it's a C.

  • @DrAlexisOlson cool, cool. Well thanks! You've certainly broadened my knowledge of this move!

  • FUCK!!

    AWESOME

  • what's with people with slow motion cameras always doing btwists with this weird set up?????

  • @pkgrip Who else has a slow motion video with this weird set up?

Maybe you saw a different video of me.

  • @DrAlexisOlson

    oops, it was you

i was wondering why it looked so similar lol

  • the one thing that would make this better is if you would put a damn shirt on...

  • Dude! Thats not a B-Twist! Thats a Shiruken Twist! Your doing something more advanced that a B-Twist :P Cause your swiping your leg over real high like a kick.

  • @PurePhinaticPopper Interesting. Someone else told me the same thing earlier this week.

  • @DrAlexisOlson Because they're right. A Shuriken Twist sure is awesome, though. I can't get them since my hip got messed up about 3 months ago.

  • how much did u pay the high speed camera!??????

  • its not realy hard i actually landed on my first try....

  • put a shirt on

  • I wish i could do stuff like this!

  • U know that ur b-twist are so dangerous for ur knee's? and + they are ugly :( just look at the way u land , u can see it urself! my reaction was OUCH!!!

  • that was the most seductive butterfly licked i'v ever seen in my life lol

  • 0:02 :o

  • Hrlped a lot!! Thanks!

  • i wish i could b twist :(

  • thanks!

  • is there a copy to the beat where i can find it???

  • @28Faina It's on YouTube audio-swap with the following info:

    Nat's Song

    Artist: MG!

    Album: Beatdown 2K

    Length: 1:10

    Genre: Hip Hop & Rap

I've tried Googling it, but came up with nothing relevant.

  • can u find it on utube

  • cool thanks

  • great slow motion videos, and great techinque!! waiting to see more...

    thanks for sharing.

  • what beat??

  • @28Faina The music? I used Audio-Swap. I think it's called Nat's Song.

  • try to do it less gay no offense :p

  • very very nice technique, the only thing id add, is that you fix the dip, cause you could get so much more air. But other than that, very nice btwists

  • pointed toes (Y)

  • your arms and legs come in at perfect angle

    thats sick!

  • very cool... i can do the butterfly kick but too scared to do the twist

  • looks gay

  • Wow you are s=good!

  • So I also have a slow motion camera to see what I do wrong when I attempt tricks, so I recently started attempting this trick, I seem to get over, but can never put my leg down to land. I spot my landing but can't put out my foot for some reason... Advice?

  • @freestuntz Not sure what to tell you. I've not had trouble putting my leg down since I keep it out the whole time.

  • @freestuntz

Kick out like... snap outwards both ways

  • Perfect just the landing is kinda sketchy

  • how do u keep ur legs up in the air? when i try it my leg that i lift up first goes down.

  • @DestroyAllN00bs I don't know that explain it better than you can see it in the video. It took me quite a long time from when I first learned this until I became consistent with it.

  • @DestroyAllN00bs Kick your first foot up as high and hard as you possibly can right before you twist. The harder and higher you kick, the higher and more smooth your landing will be

  • @3rundisciple

I see you found this vid as well, he has a very good technique

  • what camera did u used here? nice slowmo :)

  • @geilecharlie I think it was a Casio Exilm Pro EX-F1 (not mine).

I own the little brother of that camera (Exilim EX-FH20) and recently bought a Sanyo Xacti VPC-FH1A which I've been using most of the time now (it can do full 1080p HD at 60 fps and also has high speed / slo mo settings).

  • does your setup have to be so gay?

  • lol =P Yeah u should turn into it it looks less gay :L

  • @jetkow HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @jetkow It's gymnastics, it needs to be a certain style.

  • @jetkow can you do these?

  • @piggemz yeah. but thats not the point, it was just a joke. no offense meant

  • @jetkow hey at least he can do it?

  • @jetkow maybe because it's how gymnasts do that skill, not how fighters or breakers do. So it means to realize that with esthetism, properly.

  • @jetkow

He's a gymnast, what did you expect?

  • @jetkow

the "gay" setup gives him increased momentum

  • @jetkow this is the gymnastics variation

  • @jetkow What's wrong with ballet ha ha...?

  • wtf where did u get this highspeed camera?

  • Damn nice. Do you think the smoothness of your landing in due to any front split flexibility (if u know what I mean) you might do.

  • Possibly. I don't think you need to be too flexible to do this trick though.

  • uhh its better to be stretch out your ankles, hips, and back.... the hips and back allow you to get a good height and allow you to twist quicker than with stiff muscles.... ankles for beginners just in case you land incorrectly and sprain something

  • Of course tumbling / tricking / whatever is almost always safer if you are more flexible, but I'm not sure this particular skill is extra demanding flexibilitywise.

Decent flexibility is crucial for some skills though, like doing a good front handspring.

  • truth be told

  • awesomeeeee

  • nice form i love doing b twists hey look so cool and had but theyre so easy

  • Yeah, they're easy once you learn them. It took me a while to get them consistently though.

  • Beatutiful butterfly ;)

  • Did you use strobe lights to make it seem slower or just as an effect? Really cool either way!

  • No strobe lights. Fluorescent lights flicker at about double the frequency of the AC current powering them (so about 100 - 120 Hz). You just don't usually notice it in video shot at less than 30 fps.

It appears slower because it was filmed at 300 fps (and 600 fps) but is played back at 30 fps (so it's slowed down 10 (and 20) times).

  • Wow, that's really interesting.

    I'll remember that, thanks :D

  • Good b-twist. The only thing is that your legs are a little too straight. Every b-twist should look like an illusion, so try bending your legs to create more circular movements. Still a good job, though.

  • I'm a gymnast, not a tricker or martial artist.

In gymnastics, bent legs usually mean deductions, so I'll stick with the way I'm doing it. :-)

    Thanks anyway though.

  • good butterlfy twist ^^

    what´s the name of the song ? : )

  • Thanks.

If you look at the Statistics & Data tab you will see that the song is "Nat's Song" by MG!

(I used the audio swap feature for this video.)

  • ok ;)

  • This Helped me a LOT THank you very Much!!:)*****

  • You are welcome. I'm glad people find this useful!

  • I tried this again the other day and i did one which was really good except i didn't land it and then I tried again and I just did a messed up a twist and nearly broke my finger. They scare me. I give up haha

  • Ok I got it, Sorry for double posting but what you're doing is called a twist kick, You're landing on the same leg as the one you launch with. It's a harder variation of the butterfly twist but on a b twist you land on the opposite leg you launch off of. So you would land on your left leg. but it really still looks like a reverse kick

  • I don't know too much about tricking or martial arts, but I just looked up "butterfly twist" on YouTube and all of the videos I looked at did it the same way: take off leg is the same as the landing leg.

I was only able to find a couple of videos of a twist kick that looked anything like what I'm doing here. In both of them, the body was not horizontal during the twist.

Could you point me towards a video of someone doing a butterfly twist that you would consider correct?

  • you know what...I'm completely sorry haha. It's your take off from a standing position that threw me off. I did them a couple times and you did them right hehe. I'm sorry brah for any confusion! Keep it up ^^ You dip and go in so deep and your legs should be more tighter so you can torque your body and spin fast and release earlier and still be able to swing through into a cork or gainer. There are a lot of Wu-Shu Style videos that can help teach a lot.

  • No problem man and thanks for the advice. I started learning it from a step, but I never got the hang of it that way.

I'm not planning to connect it with a cork or a gainer though as those are not valid moves in gymnastics.

  • Sweet slow mo! :D

  • cool!

  • The slow motion really helps, awesome. Thanks for posting.

  • Wow this is really helpful, I can kinda see what I'm doin wrong now.

  • I thought you would like it.

BTW, the music is Nat's Song by MG! ;-)
