  • Gimme a C! A Bouncy C! Oh the weather today will be cold and windy. A good day to stay home and watch Mork and Mindy. La-di-da-da ... La-di-da-di, and whatever else you wanna put in there ...☺

  • when Comedy Network started airing previews of SCTV with this clip, a friend of work started singing this song. Everyone was like, what the f*ck is this guy talking about, but I was ballin. I start singing it to random ppl - William B! OH WILLIAM B! THE FELLA SITTIN RIGHT HERE NEXT TO ME!

  • The young geniuses of SCTV, sadly we'll never see their like again.

  • @logancody05 -- A buddy of mine from Wheaton, IL (Dick Blasucci) was 1 of the Emmy winning writers for SCTV.

  • HAHAHAHA, comedy central in Canada is using this sketch for a commercial

  • ahhhhh...a bouncy c...the best stuff

  • This whole skit is classic,,my friend was so affected by William B.`s misfortunes, that he actually became depressed!

  • William B. had one of the worst failures in SCTV history.

And it remains the funniest skit ever...

  • This is too funny.

  • I'll shtup ya later!

  • In this clip, Mr. Cohen asks for a bouncy C. It's common knowledge that he invariably favors the snappy C. Why the switcheroo? Is it the onset of something or another?

  • @cro44magnum whatever the hell kind of C you want to put in there...

  • William B and Sammy were never the same after the break. Sure they reunited but the chemistry was never the same.

But oh the times they gave us..lol

  • Hilarious! But you forgot Irving's slow, torturous, endless walk out to join William B. Thanks for this little gem!

  • da dee da da da da oh put in whatever the hell you want.

  • Anyone know where I can find a copy of "Martin Short: Concert for the North Americas" That's where the Nathan Thurm (Charlton Heston) Interview clip came from?

  • John was trying to mess him up with Roy, now that's funny!

  • I heard that Irving once asked for a "F"! A languid "F"!

  • Hey, My name is Roy and I like it

  • "Give me a 'C' a bouncy 'C'"

  • Edie get me a drink!

  • Irving Cohen was based on the legendary composer Irving Ceasar who lived to be 101.

  • actually, wasn't it supposed to be Irving Berlin?

  • No, it was Irving Ceasar who among other things collaborated with George Gershwin on Swanee. I am about the same age as Martin Short and always wanted to find out how he heard of Irving Ceasar, since it would have been rare for someone of our age to know of him. I saw an interview with Ceasar on the Joe Franklin tv show, when I was a young boy and remember it well and Short has Ceasar's quirky mannerisms done pat, as well as his penchant for announcing that he could write a song on the spot.

  • Thank you! Now I know.

  • I've always thought the character was an amalgam of Irving Berlin and George M. Cohan.

  • What hell kind of name is Roy?

  • Candy was never better than on SCTV. His movies were good but maybe scripts were not his strong suit.

  • 85 years old!

  • Irving Cohen may have been my favorite Martin Short character; I only wished they had used this character more on SCTV.

    Gimme a C! A bouncy C!

  • I liked Irving Cohen, but Jackie Rogers Jr. was pretty damn funny, too! ;)

  • THANK YOU for this! The legendary William B! His short lived, one episode show. Irving Cohen is just great too!

  • It was nice to see William B. get his own show after years of faithfully serving as Sammy Maudlins sidekick.
