This is a brown trout, not a salmon, this is what big GL browns look like, discussion over, if you dont know what it is then obviously you dont fish a lot and dont know how the same species can look different depending on habitat and forage.

Actually is a brown trout guys. Sea run and big lake browns get silver like that. have caught many myself. As to why its freakishly big with a huge hump back, no clue. Could just be a freak growing like that because trout do sometimes get that shape when they get to a size like that.

Freshwater brown trout range in colour from largely silver with relatively few spots and a white belly, to the more well known brassy brown cast fading to creamy white on the fish's belly, with medium-sized spots surrounded by lighter haloes. The more silver forms can be mistaken for rainbow trout:) Definitely not a brown but nice catch!

normaly browns can veri from brown to amber with dffernt size spots of an amazing spectrum of colors but i have never been to great lakes so if you say its a brown ok either way huge trout and fun to catch im sure

Def not a brown trout, un-natural looking but a real rod bender and healthy looking, reminds me of a river in england where a chap caught a barbell that had 3 whiskers( normally only 2), after a few like that were caught some research found the main bait used was luncheon meat and a particular brand, they learnt that the pork farm supplying the meat were feeding the pigs with steroids which in turn was then feeding both the river fish and us humans! I myself grew an extra penis what a bonus!!

A lot of sport anglers have too much respect for the fish they catch to harvest. It's difficult to kill something you receive so much joy from angling. I can't bring myself to harvest bass as a bass angler but I may harvest other species or "bonus fish" such as catfish or the occasional walleye.

actually alot of hatchery fish come with different deformities like that but certain fish naturally have that during breeding seasons or as they mature others more then others but it certainly could well be stocked but id think if they stocked fish like that theyd clip a fin or something to let you know

@ImPacosTacos Rain on the parade? Triploid or not its A MONSTER!!! Also, Triploid means that there is an extra set of chromosomes (3 instead of 2) and this renders the fish unable to reproduce. I have even witnessed triploids "fake spawn" even though actual spawning is completely out of the question. Finally, Hump back doesnt necessarily mean triploid...Fish grow differently depending on the body of water and the food available. A good indication of a stocked trout is usually A square tail.
