How the hell do you "put on an American accent?" She sings the way she sings. Is she supposed to accentuate all of her words so they come out sounding more British? C'mon! Most people don't sound the same when they sing the way they would speaking normally. She's pretty soft spoken when she speaks but definitely not when she's singing. Unless she had a VERY heavy accent that couldn't be hidden than OK, but you're nit-picking.
