For me the first season was the best the second season was getting a bit shaky but the third and fourth season just got down awful.

i agree with many of the comments, this was a very good show in seasons 1 & 2, it had a good premise. imagine a Pax Romana Roman general, a mid-19th century British officer, George S. Patton after WW2 or a Jean-Luc Picard waking up after a two hundred year slumber and finding their civilizations fallen into ruin.

I watched this show when i was about 10, and now when i 19 the show completely erased from my memory. the only thing i remember is how cool their spaceship was, and the actor who played captain of the ship was the same actor who was played Hercules in Xena show

I don't want to sound ..nerd..but..i want to point that Xena was the spin off Hercules. Kevin Sorbo's Hercules was a series on his own, and he appeared in Xena as guest (and Xena was in Hercules as guest too). There are 6 seasons of Hercules, and 6 seasons of Xena, almost in paralel the two shows.../ Andromeda, great series..i love it, you can see the Roddenberry-Trek touch everywhere.and yes, the Andromeda is a mega-cool spaceship... :-)

*laughs* Actually Hercules was first. Xena was a spin-off. But heck, you would be hard pressed to beat lesbian ladies on a Sword and Sorcery show of their own for a very memorable show.

@leo20789 Given that you're what, 19(?) take a look back through Renaissance productions and you'll find that the bloke who played Dylan Hunt (or as you say, 'the captain of the ship') played first Hercules in its own series - Hercules the legendary adventures, which pre-date xena by 3 or so years.

And for the record, the blokes name is Kevin Sorbo.

@Anoleis Actually, its was more or less Kevin Sorbo's fault. Y'see in addition to being the lead, Kevin Sorbo was also executive producer on Andromeda and later began to write and direct episodes too. This is really where things started falling down.

For me, the sign things were out of control, was where after three season of rebuilding the Commonwealth, it almost immediately collapses again into a civil war. Wow... were they really that desperate to prolong the show?

@weldonwin Maybe...Damn Kevin Sorbo! There should be a law prohibiting lead actors and/or executive producers of writing and directing tv series and movies! This is what happens when a good tv series is a victim of uncontrollabe greed of irresponsable Hollywood producers!
